New member here, I searched the forum and couldn't find a solution, I am looking for a security/surveillance camera for my (way) back yard, out of range of wifi and power, to catch an unknown neighbor who occasionally trespasses. Requirements:
- continuous record (not motion activated)
- record to memory card (don't want/need to view real time; I will be aware within 12 hours when event has occurred and can check memory card then)
- battery (not wired power; can recharge/replace battery as often as reqd)
- outdoor rated
- not required: audio or night/IR capability

I am aware if I compromise some of these requirements, that will open up more product possibilities. For various reasons, I don't want to/can't use motion detection, wifi extender, lay cable, etc. Is there something on the market that meets these criteria?

You first need to invent a magic battery or hook up a car battery

Sure a couple deep cycle batteries, a charge controller with load output control, about 300w + of solar panel, a couple Ubiquiti Nanostations and obviously the IP camera. The controller will control the output to your cam and Nanostations. So they shut off if voltage runs too low. So as long as batteries are charged enough the equipment stays running and connected to your network. And it's all automated.

Otherwise, a good Game Camera will do the deed.
Yep, for < $200 and up and running in 15 minutes and is weatherproof.

This offer is NOT available for $19.95 on late night TV ads. ;)

Can't beat Game Cameras. I have 5 up at my property and they work great. They are way less that 200 I buy the ones that are under 100 around 70 to 80 that take 8 AA batteries. The batteries last for months I do pics only. Get all kinds of wild life pics. :)

Stay far away from moultrie game cameras they are total crap. I am running the Stealth Cam 42's now.
