Won't Sentry integration with BI diminish desire to improve detection in BI?

What is the impetuous for BI development team to improve their own detection and false trigger algorithms if a subscription company(they're aligned with) is already there to do it for them? I assume BI will continue to make modest improvements in that area but if they are in bed with someone who is a leader in this field then I feel like BI will tamper down efforts to improve in this area; otherwise they would be competing with the service they integrated with. I'm guessing that BI get's something out of the sub rate maybe? Hope someone smarter than me can explain this to me because I feel like this is an area that BI should be mastering and not subbing out.

It's like you didn't even read the release notes... People just love conspiracy theories... And even if that was his model he can do whatever the hell he wants... There's no Blue Iris development team... It's one guy in his living room... There's a limit to what he can do himself particularly because of the many patents protecting AI... Properly developing your own AI costs millions do you think the software will still be 60 bucks?
It's amazing what people with nothing better to do will concoct in their heads... Blue Iris motion detection is actually phenomenal, if you are not lazy and learn how to use it... You can supplement it with PIR detectors that will make it outstanding... Let us know what the VMS end up going with... The BI developer is obviously trying to scam you... Also note that sentry is not even close to being a leader in this field.. they are small tiny hole in the wall company relative to the leaders... Now go and actually read the release notes. You can always count on the conspiracy theorist to take a good thing and turned it into a bad thing.... The internet is an amazing place..

Wow. I thought I just asked a reasonable question with no obvious motive and didn't mean any disrespect.
I've been using BI for years now with 11 cams, and appreciate Ken's product, been a subscriber to BI also for the past few years so I have immense respect for what Ken has produced. I've always admired you too fenderman because of all of the valuable insight you've provided on the forums for the years I've asked for and received good advice on tweaking BI just the way I want it to work for me.
But I'm at a loss for your response.

The response is in direct reply to your conspiracy implications.

Sorry you took it that way. I thought I was just asking a question and in no way meant it to sound the way you read it.

What you're worried that Ken won't do is exactly what he's doing by opening up the product to third party integration. With the right extensible plugin architecture, BI could be the hub to an entire ecosystem of complimentary third party development that integrates with BI's core mission.
