Here is the Latest firmware for NVR4XXX-4KS2 models, esp for the hot selling model NVR4216-16P-4KS2, NVR4208-8P-4KS.

And support all 4 series 4KS2 models with POE or without POE models.

Attention, if you are using hacked Chinese models with your NVR, please don't update the firmware. Or else will block the Chinese models directly.

Andy

I read the releasenotes on from the Dahua site

Just two items:
1. Fix up the problems when the main Ethernet port is not connected, PoE IPC can’t be on line automatically.
2. Fix up some devices have no LOGO when power on.

Is this just it? What about securitypatches etc?

3. Screwed the compatibility with Chinese Dahua cameras.
After upgrading the NVR from version 3.215 to this vesrion 3.216 my IPC-HWD4433C-A camera suddenly became not compatible with the NVR.
I opened a ticket with Dahua North America. They deferred the ticket to Oversee. Thous guys said that I can't reverse the firmware back.
Before moving to this version check which cameras you have. You might be losing some.

Yes, you are right, right now they blocked all hacked models working with original English models.

Have to go back to 2018 firmware. maybe can't downgrade anymore, so can make a try.
Can't. I have tried it. After this particular version Dahua closed the door. Can't downgrade. The NVR. Neither cameras. Looks like I've made a big mistake buying Dahua cameras and NVR.

Those hacked models most guys here know well. I always tell them the risk before they want to purchase. You can use with BI or update your cams into original english and update-able version.

I also tried to update the camera to English version using UART with TFTP. No go. The camera uses new signed firmware. I couldn't update it. Unless there is another back door. I'm giving up in this shit.

Not back door, the non-updated cams dahua are not authorized, and easy attacked if firmware can't be updated.

I quit "upgrading" after 3.210, thanks to Andy's warning about this. If I upgrade to another NVR it will likely be to BI. I originally figured I'd replace my 4431 series cams as they died, but they are proving to be 100% reliable.

I feel your pain. Luckily I have only one camera not working after the upgrade.
If your cameras firmware is not signed ( before 2018) you might be able to flash the cameras back to modded English version. Otherwise you might be looking at different NVR.

We can try to challenge Dahua o their NVR ONVIF 2.4 certification. If they blocked these Chinese Dahua cameras which used a Private protocol, they can't block the connection over ONVIF. This is an OPEN network protocol. But since the NVR also blocks these cameras over ONVIF- that means that they can't claim that their NVR is ONVIF compatible.

Sucessfully downgrade via serial console and tftp :)

Can you please share how did you connect serially with NVR? Did you make a plug to a 4-pin tiny white connector on the board?
