I just started my quest of procuring some security cameras so this site and the article below are all new to me:

With Aadhaar Amendments Passed, Need Data Protection Bill And Surveillance Reform

Again, I'm a cam newbie but shouldn't this be of concern to the members of this forum since these two brands seem to be the most popular on here? My search for 'NDAA' didn't turn up much of anything on this site. How do we know the "English" firmware is truly safe? I'm just asking :idk:

That's what I thought. Just like most things in this modern day... Pay out the wazoo for stuff you can't trust.
You are confused on at least two points. 1) you are not paying out the wazoo. You are paying 10-30 percent of the price of "trusted" manufactures. 2) there really is no such thing as a trusted manufacture. There have always been and always will be vulnerabilities.
Therefore, just be smart and protect yourself.

Just to be clear, I was speaking in general terms when I made the "paying out the wazoo" statement. I was not referring specifically to any product or manufacturer. I only meant that we pay good money for items and quite often we have to jump through hoops to keep some modicum of privacy.

That's my point you're not paying good money... you are paying pennies on the dollar....
I don't care what device you buy you have to do the same thing, this applies to anything from any manufacturer...Don't have to jump through any hoops it's a basic setup included in most routers.
