Hi,
I am completely new to using IP cameras so I may be being dumb here!
I have just received my new Hilook IP camera PTZ-N24041-DE3
It connected to my network and had an IP address of 192.168.1.45
Now I have my router set to only support dhcp addresses from 100 up.
I am trying to set it up and it is supposed to provide an initial activation window
which requires user name then
password and confirm boxes.
It doesn't but just expects username and password.
I did a quick search and this suggests admin/12345
That doesn't work.
Although this came packaged such that it seemed to be new this all seems odd.
I suspect that this has been used
I ran netdiscover and it found the camera but reported it as from an unknown vendor. Is this what I should expect or should it show it's from Hikvision?
I have emailed the company I bought it from but as it was already late I don't expect an answer today.
I am not running Windows but Linux so can only use the web approach to set this up.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

If you can run a Windows VM (Oracle VirtualBox works well), with the adaptor in bridge mode :
Hikvision's SADP tool will find and assess the camera. SADP Tool
An unused (non HiLook) camera normally shows as 'Inactive'.
When 'Activated' it shows as 'Active.

I gave the wrong ip address, not that it makes much difference as it's 192.168.1.64.
Also I am now getting a message when I try to login
"Network Abnormal"
I read somewhere that this meant an IP address conflict but apart from my print server and another IP camera the rest are DHCP assigned and are from 100 to 114.
My print server is at 192.168.1.60 and the camera at 192.168.1.92
Oh and my router is at 192.168.1.1.
Any idea what is wrong?

Didn't think of that. Pretty sure I have Virtualbox set up bridged. I guess I'l have to get a copy of Windows but I still think the camera is not responding as the documentation says it should.
Thanks I'll try it when I get chance
