I have a Foscam R4S that I finally got to working with my Blue Iris setup. I wanted a cheap camera for my garage. It's working well except for the fact that it won't keep time correctly.

Using Onvif I was able to set it to sync with my computer, but it isn't, Earlier, myy computer said 8:29am. When I checked the camera, it showed 6:49am, a difference of an hour and forty minutes. Using Onvif I told it to sync with my computer again and it went to 7:49, so it's still off by an hour. It doesn't matter if I have observe daylight savings time checked or unchecked, the camera is always off by an hour after I sync it with my computer. Also, even if it did sync correctly, the camera starts to drift off over time as evidenced by the fact that I was off by an odd time, not an even hour. I was off by an hour and forty minutes.

Any idea why this thing won't keep the correct time?

Also, at least temporarily, I thought about turning off the time stamp completely, and using the time/date stamp from Blue Iris, but I can't seem to find a way to turn the camera's off.

I cannot locate the software that came with my camera. Does anyone know where to download this? I can't seem to find anything for this camera at the Foscam site.

Thanks.

You haven't said what the NTP settings are, or the DNS settings (needed to know how to find the NTP server) - or whether the camera is blocked from internet access if the NTP server is out there.

I'm not sure where to get these settings. In Onvif the camera was set to my time zone, Central Time, with automatically adjust for daylight savings time, but the time was always wrong. I don't have any other software for this camera, so I don't know how to access any built-in NTP/DNS settings for it. I can't seem to locate any software for the camera, so I have nothing to access it with other than ONvif, and now Blue Iris, now that I've gotten it working with it.

I really can't find anything at all on the Foscam site about the R4S at all, so I have no idea where to go for and required setup software.

That won't set the time - just the time zone.

Whilst not being familiar with that specific camera - normally you'd access the camera using a browser in order to make all the configuration choices.
Have you tried pointing your browser (ideally IE11) at the camera IP address where normally you'd get a logon page?
