I've been using AT&T email for probably many years to send my BI alerts (My email domain was sbcglobal to give you an idea how long I had it). Now AT&T first flagged me as a spammer, then it says I had too many bad logins. Their user support fixed it for about 5 minutes and it won't work again. So,...

does anyone recommend an email provider that they use/like for sending blue iris emails. Incidentally I could never get gmail to work with blue iris - something to do with two factor authentication.

thanks

I will definitely give it a go again. Really appreciate you flagging me to this video.
Followup: I created a new gmail account and applied the "weakened" security" setting and it works great. thanks

The video author was correct in his prediction. Google changed all their setting screens but I was persistent and found where they put the security setting.

Now only if Blue Iris could implement a setting that limits the number of alert emails or texts per hour. When fog or rain comes in at night, my camera motion detection goes crazy. This is why I believe AT&T flagged me as a spammer.

You can use push notifications which are faster and way more efficient. Blue iris already limit alerts by setting minimum time between alerts. Alternatively you can setup alerts to only occur with zone crossing to limit false alerts. Finally you can use Sentry AI to virtually eliminate all false alerts for 50 bux a year.
