With over 235 pages, I don't know where to begin.

I have two problems with Hikvision DS-HD1. Just purchased and installed it. My first question is, mechanical chime inside the house doesn't work. After reading a few pages on this thread, I'm suspecting it might be related to an underpowered transformer, but it rings my phone so I suppose I don't really need to fix unless there is an easy fix. My other question is, there is around maybe 10sec delay with video/audio feed. My cellphone rings after about 3 sec delay which I think is reasonable but is there a way to fix delay with video/audio delay?

Thanks all.
Check out our Doorbell 101

Thanks - yeah I guess I mean I still want to record motion as there's no human detection differentiator; I just don't want to be notified about it each time.

Also, how did you get this screen enabled? Mine's all greyed out:
What doorbell model? What firmware? What batch config version is that?

Doorbell 101 is the first thing I read before installing my DS-HD1(Hikvision). All works except 10 seconds delay with audio/video feed after answering doorbell chime. I'm on 1gig fiber line, 2 bars on wifi signal. Tried moving my router closer to achieve 3 bars but makes little or no difference. I get an almost instant notification(1-2sec) through the Hik-Connect app on my android (Samsung S10+) when someone approaches DS-HD1. Anything I can do to reduce this delay?

What telco are you using for your cellular phone?

Test the app connecting to your cellular telco and compare it to a local WiFi connection with the app. Transport will be different (and speeds)

1 - cellular phone running app ==> Telco cellular internet transport

2 - cellular phone running app ==> local wifi connection ==> should be faster BUT you are home.

Try it with a hotspot connection and see if it is better than your Cellular Internet connection (well LTE).

T-Mobile here in the US throttles and massages internet connectivity through their proxy servers.

Do a speed test to the Hikvision cloud on your cell phone.

T-Mobile LTE locally are saturated these days. They did give me a cellular repeater which works but only OK.

Look like Guarding Vision follow other app footstep and updated it that mic is automatically enabled when you answer a doorbell call on it

Sigh......

So you get the call on your phone from someone pressing the doorbell button, you swipe to answer and your audio/video feed is around 10 seconds correct? I can tell you we have all had issues with this though, mainly being inconsistent though in that sometimes we do not even get the call. All we have came up with is it is a Cloud issue.
Maybe try another App.?

From 101:

⦁ Available Apps (Allows Remote Access):
iO/S: Hik-Connect, RCA Security, EZVIZ, LaView One, Guarding Vision
Android: Hik-Connect, RCA Security, EZVIZ, LaView ONE, Guarding Vision

I've installed my new Ezviz DB1 last weekend and I'm really happy with my setup. I had a Ring 1 before, but without the subscription (I don't want to pay 30€ per year only for recording). I'm running openHAB with many different devices and thought it would be really cool to integrate the camera too. My Ring Doorbell was also integrated, but only via ifttt. I've configered the doorbell button to send a signal to openhab via ifttt to trigger my chime (Google Home speakers). There is also a hue bulb at the frontdoor which were triggered by the motion detection inside my Ring (also via ifttt). This setup was sometimes very slow and for sure...it doesn't work without internet.

The Ezviz DB1 worked very well out of the box (fast, stable, good image), but also doesn't have any open interface for the doorbell button or motion detection. Thanks to you guys here! I've found my perfect solution:

First of all i've flashed the hikvision firmware to get ONVIF support. That makes it possible for me to 1.) get motion detection working with onvif2mqtt, 2.) add the camera easily to my synology surveillance station, 3.) get a live jpg snapshot to view on my openHAB UI. The next thing was the doorbell button. I've seen many different solutions in this thread, but most were not possible in germany. I couldn't find the devices (with shipping to germany) or the shipping fee was very high. But i've found a Homematic doorbell sensor (HM-Sen-DB-PCB) which is working with 2 x AAA batteries for 5 years and costs about 25€ for a building kit. You have to solder some parts, but nothing difficult. This device needs a Homematic bridge, which I already own because my heater thermostats are also from homematic. And now comes the cabeling. I could use my 28 year old 8V transformer. Two lines from the transformer came out of the wall where my chime hung before (not working since years) and two lines go from there to my doorbell. I've used the fuse, to bridge one line directly to the doorbell. I've connected the other two lines to the power pack und the power pack in parallel with the homematic module. I've used my old mechanical chime as a housing (cutted out all unnecessary parts like the magnet) so that I wasn't necessary to drill new holes and it looks like before.

My result is that I have still information about motion and doorbell rings in my openHAB system to ring my chimes (Google Home Speaker and lights) and turn the light outside on and it is much faster now then before (no more ifttt). I have live snapshots in my smart home UI and can record everything to the internal SD or to my surveillance station with pretty good quality.

Just wanted to let you guys know how I solved my problems and maybe the homematic sensor should be listed in the 101, to help others with the same problem. If you have questions, just ask :)

Ah...and one last thing. It would be really great if I could add my Ezviz DB1 to Google Home. It was integrated before i've flashed the hikvision firmware. After flashing i've disconnected it from Google Home to reconnect it again, but now I'm getting an error, that the settings could not be saved. Does anybody know if this is a general issue on ezviz's site at the moment or does it have to do with the hikvision firmware? Does anybody got it to work on a Ezviz with Hikvision firmware before? I've tried to find such an information in this thread, but couldn't find something useful with the search function.
could you send me details of how you have done this button workaround. I too have been using matts binding for about a year now and have been waiting for him to integrate this doorbell for a while. A wiring diagram would be grand, looking for a solution myself.
Cheers.
Can always send to me here or openhab forum (same handle)

I factory reset my doorbell and set Chime type to mechanical. But its still not chiming. It worked fine for over 2 years with a camera doorbell, this one and the first gen prior to it... whats the odds my transformer is not pushing enough amps but yet somehow still powering the doorbell just fine?

thx!

Btw, how do you like the Aeotec Siren 6 (didnt know it existed)? I could use that as a remote / automation (Homeseer) controlled chime. What voltage does it use for 'plug power'? thx!

hi all, does this doorbell record to the SD card if its not connected at all to any network? using PIR or doorbell button trigger to start recording?

I tried to test it at in laws home as they dont have internet yet nor a home network setup. so its installed powered on normally. I walked around in front, pressed the doorbell but didnt see any recordings go on the sd card.

1. Chime/Power issues: could depend on many things, read the 101 and make sure connections are ok, follow the schema in the 101. Did you install the power-kit? What transformer are you using, what voltage and VA?
2. The Aeotec Siren 6 is a fantastic device. Very reliable and very flexible. I use it as a chime for the doorbell and as an alarm/siren for some sensors. Recommended. Aeotec makes several interesting devices, take a look at their website. Here's the power supply:

It does record on SD card without network, but you need to configure it first. Did you do it?

I would take a look at the doorbell manual first. How did you install it? Powered up and that's it? :)
i did, the manual is mostly if not only and about physical installation of the device.

Basically I set it up as normal and since there was no internet in the home yet, i just setup a hotspot from my phone temporarily to register it and set it up. so i know it works------when its online. im not doing any fancy or advance setup like going to an NVR, etc.

Just normal stock ezviz db1 with its updated firmware. and an sd card on it.

So after i set it up normally on the temporary internet hotspot, i disabled hotspot.

So it doesnt record to SD card if not connected to any network?

I am having problems with this doorbell and Blue Iris that just started a month or two ago. 90% of the time that someone rings the bell, Blue Iris only shows the very top of the image in the video snapshots and on the app for live video. Recordings are still on the entire view. I fix this by disabling the camera in BI and then enabling it again. The problem typically begins again the next time someone rings the bell. I have two of these doorbells and they are both doing the same thing.

Has anyone else experienced this weird issue?

Today I noticed when someone rang the doorbell it came through on my iPhone like a voice call. Why would you want a doorbell camera that does activate the actual camera when someone pushes the button?! Is there some setting in the GV app that I missed where you could at least get camera feed when someone rings the db?

Stock ezviz is the camera PLUS the mobile app. You did the installation of the doorbell through the app, after that, did you open the app and take a look at the options? the sd card has to be initialized, you need to configure the doorbell to tell it what it should do. It doesn't read your mind. :)

Like I said before: the doorbell doesn't need the network to record on the sd card, I don't know how did you assume this, where have you read it? You simply didn't complete theinstallation of the doorbell, that means you didn't configure it.
Take a look at all the EZVIZ mobile app options. You'll find what you need.
