I'm thinking many of the shooters and 2A advocates will come down on the side of this young man but I can imagine there are those who think otherwise.

Personally, I think his actions should be judged justified if not deserving of commendation.


Rittenhouse is now charged (as per Kenosha County Circuit Court Complaint 8-27-20) with the following:

Count 1: FIRST DEGREE RECKLESS HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Count 2: FIRST DEGREE RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING SAFETY, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Count 3: FIRST DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Count 4: ATTEMPT FIRST DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Count 5: FIRST DEGREE RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING SAFETY, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Count 6: POSSESSION OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON BY A PERSON UNDER 18

I agree that he was in fear of his life and safety. Unfortunately, he made a basic mistake because he is 17 and the legal age for firearm possession is 18. That's really going to complicate the heck out of his case.

I laugh when I hear the reports saying the first person he shot threw a plastic bag at him. Anyone ever try to throw the typical, empty, plastic bag from the grocery store? It will go, maybe 10 feet if it's all balled up. There had to be something fairly dense, in other words damaging, inside that bag to get it to go anywhere.

The next one is on video assaulting him, actually hitting him in the head, with a skateboard. That could easily result in serious injury or even death.

The last one was still holding a hand gun in the same hand where he was shot in the bicep. If that isn't threatening I don't know what is, especially since he was chased down by those two "victims".

I also question the sanity, wisdom and propriety of the person who would even ask a 17 year old, related or not, to watch over, guard or protect someone else's property under any circumstance thereby putting that person in any jeopardy or danger. I've likely got some socks or tee shirts older than 17 years....the kid should have been anywhere but where he was.

Exactly.

And even if it was some magical bag that defied the laws of physics, it doesn't matter. After seeing videos of people getting bricks, frozen water bottles, and even fireworks thrown at their heads from these maniacs, I'd assume the worst too. It doesn't matter what it ends up being. What matters is that a real fear of death or great bodily injury is there.

It's like the Tamir Rice incident. It's sad that a boy was killed, but it's not fair to expect a police officer to gamble his life and hope that it was a fake gun that was being pointing at him. Better parenting early on is the solution to this.

Two completely separate situations. . .
Jacob Blake was walking away from the police, was absolutely no threat to them and they shot him in the back 7 times. You can think what you want but in my America nobody should be treated like this.

1) Innocent kid defending himself.
2) Brave guy with skateboard dies trying to stop mass shooter.
3) It's all Trumps fault for stoking violence and creating a culture of hate.

Just like how the MSM reports. It's not "murder" until it is ruled as such by a court of law.

Blake was a felon with a warrant, the police were called there to a disturbance, Blake resisted arrest, a taser was not successful, Blake disobeyed lawful orders to stop, to quit going to the car, to not open the door, to not go in the car, and on and on....so what in your opinion was the officer to do? say "PRETTY PLEASE"? Or wait until he himself got shot or stabbed by Blake? What would YOU have done? I sincerely want to know.

Im angry at folks who read a headline on twitter or CNN and rationalize that what’s happening in cities across the country as acceptable. I’m angry at criminals and those who make excuses for them.

I’m angry at superficial people who can’t be bothered to spend the time to simply educate themselves on what’s going on around them and instead default to parroting lies and refuse to provide any facts to back their assertion.

I’m not justifying killing nor is anyone here.

There is such a thing however as justified homicide and self defense. Do you not believe in self defense? Do you believe the Police should instead take a bullet or a knife to the neck so they don’t shoot any armed criminals intent on doing them harm?

I’m no more on the wrong side of history than I was about Trevon, Michael Brown, or Freddie Gray. All eventually went to trial or had charges dropped after the evidence, facts, clearly showed no fault of those involved.

I am fairly certain that Jacob Blake is still alive. Correct me if I am wrong here. I just did a search and cannot find anything saying he has passed on. This is not the first time I have seen someone talk about the 'murder' of Jacob Blake.

I was going to comment that CT has a definite reading comprehension problem since the dirt bag, Jacob Blake, is not dead, so how can it be a murder in the first place? Maybe he did get shot too often, but adrenaline can do that to even the best trained person when under heavy stress. Monday Morning Quarterbacks and half assed Twitter, YouTube and CNN reports lead to nothing but confusion. Like Biden said, "We take truth over the facts!", problem is the facts aren't supporting the so-called truth in this case.
