I've got a different problem from the chime (well it also doesn't work but I can see the hammer moving so it's just insufficient power, I'll deal with that later):

I used the doorbell successfully for several days. First with original EZVIZ firmware (that's the branding), then with Hikvision to use onvif.

However after several days it went offline in the App and there is no more communication with the App at all.
It's still running, connected to wifi, I can open the stream, reconfigure or reset it in the Batch Configurator, but I cannot add it in (any of the) apps anymore.

After reset I connect to it, then the app configures my wifi, then the doorbell (successfully) connects to my wifi, as does my phone, but then it can never find it anymore on the local network so the setup fails.
Nothing actually changed in my local network setup at the time it stopped working. I've tried it half a dozen times, even created a new WLAN specifically for the doorbell, checked all the settings.

I'm out of ideas so unless anyone here has any I'm going to RMA it.

you might be stuck with the original app. I know hig/ezviz made there apps lock to a camera so you couldn't switch apps back and forth. Also you might need to factory reset the doorbell but if your on a different firmware there is a method to reset it without messing it up.

Also, try tapping a 9v battery to the pins on the doorbell. If it doesnt ding then the chime is messed up. If it dings it might either be the power addon thing or the transformer.

If you log into every app and there is no camera in those apps and it still won't add to the app you want then you might have changed the onboard SSID or password which won't let it sync to an app. there is info about this in the 101.

the apps just don't let you log into several different apps at once. i have no issues with apps. and my chime issue is currently gone, so i'm happy

Chime issue gone? You got it fixed? Or it because you swapped out the ezviz doorbell with the laview doorbell?

Switched to laview doorbell. I think ezviz won't be fixable

I think you may be right ... ezviz is suppose to call me today this evening about my chime issue. They already shipped me replacement powerkit last week and I swapped it out, it didn't restore the chime function.

When somebody is at the door, I have 3 devices that start ringing (my phone, my wife's phone and our tablet). When I pick up on one of them, the others keep ringing. Do you have the same issue? I use the same account on all devices to login to the EZVIZ app.

I'm not sure you're replying to my post or rayt but I've tried all of this with both original ezviz firmware and app and with hikvision firmware and app, they both do (or don't) the same thing. It worked fine with the hikvision firmware and app for the first few days. I've done the resetting every time as well.
Only thing I didn't try yet is the reset during power-on mentioned here because it requires two people on it's current installation position.

Also in the Batch Config tool there is a complete restoration option that I never tried, what's the difference between that one and the partial restoration that alexdelprete says you should use in the guide?

Hi guys, I have an Eziviz DB1 doorbell with latest firmware version V5.2.4. build 200220 and IOS App in combination with a mechanical Chime and the new Ezviz Chime (Model: CS-CMT-AO-CHIME). Everything works properly, including the mechanical Chime. But my neighbor where I have installed the Ezviz DB1 doorbell with a mechanical Chime suddenly the mechanical chime stops working. Now I read on the forum that several users suffer from this problem. My neighbor also has the latest firmware version and IOS App version. I would like to help my neighbor solve his problem. I thought to restore the previous firmware version on the Ezviz DB1 and reconfigure it. Is this the right approach to this problem?

My replacement DB1 is supposed to arrive today, I'm planning on installing it and will let you guys know if it fixes my mechanical chime issue. This should hopefully rule out hardware as a problem.

Edit: Fedex changed the delivery date, it's getting here tomorrow. :(

Does he have the same chime as yours? Just to understand the differences between your setup and his.

Ezviz tried different attempts to get my chime working again even sending me a replacement powerkit for it. Still no chime.

Ezviz decided to RMA my DB1 and they will send me a replacement DB1.

Yes, the same configuration except the Ezviz Chime
So the mechanical chime is the same. And you installed it exactly the same way? Power-kit connected the same way? Did you measure the voltages normally and when pushing the button?

Did you double check if the chime config on the app is enabled and mechanical chime is selected? On latest ezviz mobile app you can't do it AFTER the first configuration, only during 1st configuration. In that case, install Guarding Vision app, and you'll be able to double-check the chime configuration.

Same here. 190716 on my LaView, chime works.

So, since LaView no longer sells the Halo ONE, and have not done any firmware updates since last year, hmmm just wondering...
