HIKVISION IP Camera Question

HI all. Apologies in advance for potential 'tourist' question but here we go...

I took on the job of installing my cameras after receiving eye watering quotes for simple 3 cam set up, I'm not particularly technical at all but after a little time have got it configured and fully operational with one remaining problem...

I had been running the cam with a separate 12v power source with ethernet cable connected directly to router. Had the HIKVISION poe switch delivered today so I can install with single cable, I attached the camera that powered up and would flash strobe etc on walk pasts etc but the app connectivity and domain access has become cripplingly slow... Im missing something in the configuration and would be extremely grateful if someone could point out what...

Should mention that I am not using a NVR/DVR as the camera has a memory card.

Cam is Hikvision DS-2CD2346G2-ISU-SL-2.8

1) was the camera working correctly when on the 12V power
2) what is the model number of the Hikvision poe switch
3) what application are you using to access the camera
4) what device phone/pc are you using to access the camera
5) are you accessing the camera when at home or when you are out ?
6) are you trying to look at like view or are you looking at previous events ?

Hi thanks so much for your reply. Ill answer your questions in order;

1. Absolutely perfectly.
2. Model: PS-100POE8
3. HIK - Connect & Domain page both equally unusable.
4. Iphone - Windows PC
5. At home.
6. Look at live picture. Cam is still on floor as I want to square configuration away before mounting it.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Are you using a home made cable or a purchased premade cable ?
What is the cable length approximately ?
when connect on the POE you have disconnected the 12v power ?
How are you accessing the camera ?

1) from a PC can you ping the IP address of the camera ?
2) can you access the camera from a web browser ? do you get the login screen ?
3) have you tried the hikvision SADP tool to find the camera ?
