I'm wanting to give this camera a try and install it 650 feet from the NVR, good thing is I have electric 35-feet from the install location. Any suggestions on the best way to manage this? Thanks.

Current Favorite Cam List For Those Interested
A little extra as I close this post.
As I get asked this all the time, my current favorites list and those I recommend based on their per class performance and use case are, in no particular order:

49225 - Coming with 2MP, an absolute powerhouse for the price, certainly a rare gem in this category of PTZ’s
5A425 - Continues on the great sensor to optic and MP pairing for the 4MP line providing a great image

5442 - A well rounded and very flexible series of cams that has the pairing of MP to sensor and optics almost perfect
  • Bullet IPC-HFW5442E-ZHE
  • Fixed IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE
  • Varifocal - IPC-HDW5442T-ZE
7442 (ANPR Models) - These really are amazing models and 1 of my all time favorites for vari bullet cams due to feature and performance. A Z12 variant in this model would be an amazing addition and would increase the flexibility even further
  • IPC-HFW7442H-Z
  • IPC-HFW7442H-Z4

5231/5241 - Due to advances in the other models above, my 2 current favorites in this model are based on their performance for reliable long range LPR (not ANPR of course, for that, 7442) therefore the Z12's only.
  • IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E
  • IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E
Looking at empiretechandy's cameras, the model numbers are slightly different than listed above. I understand Andy sells Dahua under his Loryta brand. As an example, is the Dahua IPC-HDW5542TM-ASE the same as Andy's Loryta IPC-T5442TM-AS? HDW vs T, ASE vs AS. Thanks.

Yes depending on the series, as some cams remain Dahua branded vs Loryta. @EMPIRETECANDY re-brands accordingly. Also Yes, the 2 models you list above are the same, IPC-HDW5542TM-ASE being the same as Loryta IPC-T5442TM-AS. HTH and feel free to reach out with any other questions

hmmm.... would a regular POE switch work for this? For some reason, as soon as it starts to detect movement, the whole camera crashes and reboots?

Depends on your switch. You need to a) ensure POE+ is supported and that b) you have enough POE budget left to support up to 20w give or take on that port.

Hmm... I just looked, the budget is fine... but the ports max support 16.2w :(

I recommend (if you don’t have a switch to support) that people in this situation look at the PFT1200 midspan which work very well. Have a number of these for different cams and projects.

X2 on the PFT1200
I had a look, the cheapest pricing was $65!!!! At the moment, I am using two switches.. one is a 8 port netgear managed POE switch and the other is just a netgear switch.... kind of annoying having two.. anyway, so I decided for $150 i'll just buy a TP-Link TL-SG1016PE which is 16-port POE+ switch... and i'll offload the other two switches to family who only need a basic POE switch etc.
