Firefox 78.7.1esr (64-bit) (Linux) works fine on my 5231's, my 4231, and my 2231 (re-labelled as an X-Security XS-IPDM9852ZWH-2). Neither Chrome, Chromium, nor Brave (Chrome engine) produce video previews on the Main Stream, but they do for Sub Stream 1. Makes no sense, but there it is.

Dahua is finally going to
have to fix this. IE is EOL'd. According to
@looney2ns, Microsoft will remove IE from MS-Windows 10 later this year. I've found no evidence to corroborate that. Personally, I'd be surprised if they did that this year, but I imagine they will eventually. If MS removes IE from MS-Windows before Dahua fixes their firmware, there is going to be a lot of very, very annoyed customers. (Well, more than there is now.)
In the interim: I have no plans to acquire any additional Dahua cameras. I'll probably pick up a couple inexpensive Reolink IP cams to satisfy my urge to play
