Hello folks!

I hope this is appropiate to post here and this way. I'm looking for a new camera setup for my parents holiday-home.
At the moment there is a Instar IN-9020 and a Reolink RLC-511 installed. The Reolink works find and there is no need to change that camera (i think?). But the Instar is... just... not worth it's money at all.
So we want to install a new camera where the Instar is. Additionally to that we'd like to install 1-2 new cameras.

See the picture at the end of the post for the current and future situation:
Yellow: Instar IN-9020 PTZ with the potential FOV
Red: Reolink RLC-511 with the FOV
to blues: New cameras to install with potential FOV. The one in the southern part will be mounted in a tree (eco friendly without hurting the tree of course) and the other blue is to have a look at the "feeding thing" for deer and moose.

The situation: Only 4G/LTE is available with 30GB per month. We don't need a full 24/7 recording of the place. At the moment we are able to see the cameras with their properitary apps on mobile or with accessing the web-ui. VPN is available, also ddns on the router.
Second option is to get screenshots of the cameras via a telegram bot. Additionally every full hour a picture of both cameras will be sent to a telegram-group. Everyday at noon the picutres will be saved on a Intel NUC there to create a timelapse of the full year.

There is no recorder at the house. That might be an option. Also blue iris is currently not in use, but I'm willing to buy and use it with the new setup.

So, what are we looking for:
  • A new PTZ cam as replacement for the Instar.
  • A small camera for mounting in the tree with view of the lake
  • A simple camera for the look at the "feeding station" east of the house.

Additional thoughts:
  • I'm thinking about a Dahua for the replacement of the Instar.
  • PoE and normal power are available everywhere or will be made avaialble
  • Budget: I think 1000€ for all cameras would be good. If a recorder would make sense that'd be great to have in that budget, too.
  • There are power-outages occasionally, maybe a UPS would make sense then. At least for the recorder.
  • For the usage of the telegram-bot there should be an option to get images via wget, so a simple url to the current image would be great
  • For the PTZ camera it should be controllable with CGI-commands (as is the Instar) so i can send positions where the camera should point at via CGI.
  • We'd love to be notified of any animals or humans

Is this doable? My parents will be there in about two months, i'm in Germany so i hope buying and shipping will be in time (with buying in CN in mind)

Thanks SO much in advance!

Hello, Nice project. Do some research on Zerotier. I haven't used it but it seems promising. You will likely need it for a mobile connection.

Thanks so far!
The guide is so overwhelming but I'll give it a shot.
ButI think even with the guide it's hard to find a good camera out of Dahuas current lineup.

Can’t offer any advice on PTZ cams as I’ve never owned one but looking at your pic won’t or don’t you need more cams to cover the area?

It's not about the surveillance. It's more about having a look at the lake and the house when we're not nearby. Also to look for animals like deer, moose and maaaybe an bear!

so we don't need full coverage :)
