Sample on the way to USA for a testing, but this model official release will be Later june or July.
Will get a great name for this model.
Ask Trump.

I'm sure it's the Hypersonic Super Duper Camera. Should have old Kim Jong Un hiding his face in case in the US is watching.

Aha, a little busy for preparing the middle year promotion. This model is under checking by @Wildcat_1 , will have some important upgrade on the firmware next month, so we need to wait then to release the review. Make them perfect.
Can share a pic here for fun.

I have no doubt the Web GUI will be better than the Hikvision as this is the only complaint I have with Hikvision so far.

As @EMPIRETECANDY stated, I have my hands on this new cam for review soon (thanks Andy !) and am currently putting it through initial testing. This particular unit includes pre-release FW, therefore lots of bugs to deal with. However I’m creating a list of these and feeding them back to Dahua while I await a full v1.0 FW to do full testing with in the coming weeks.

I did just want to say that as you know I don’t advocate for full color at night UNLESS you have a ton of light available to mitigate noise and slow shutter. This is even more important with 4K (remember, don't chase megapixels). I don’t believe in compromising image quality just to have color. Light will always be needed (regardless of cam) for any color at night. However, with the larger aperture afforded by the sensor / lens pairing of these full color cams it does potentially allow for a wider set of lighting scenarios. Therefore my testing with this cam so far has been focused on whether its possible to make the camera work in ‘regular’ light i.e. 1 x LED bulb then 2 bulbs then spotlights etc all initially without using the on-board illuminators (white light) and then subsequently with the illuminators by themselves. My goal being to get to an image I’m happy with (if possible) that could be useful for all of us here and allow for successful, smear free, motion blur-less caps both with and without built in illuminators (that sometime are not synced well to the sensor and add noise and/or color shift).

I’m also doing comparisons against other cams with the main being the 5442 that I know all are interested in understanding how this new 4K stacks up against. I will say that from my initial testing (and a quick comparison frame synced video I built) that this camera is not only performing well but is also well built (nice construction). I still need to tweak the image, test further and as mentioned there are a ton of bugs that currently would impact usability such as IVS being broken (although 1 cool aspect is a new IVS rule type), SD cards not reading etc BUT that is to be expected on a pre-release FW.

Just wanted to share some tidbits while I await the new FW drop and then will look to build out the full blown review.

Thanks

I am in the market for a couple of these as long as they work as advertised. I will be reading Wildcat_1's review in detail. ;) My experience with these 4K cameras so far is the detail that is available. For instance there is an intersection around two+ blocks away that I have never been able to see before with any detail. Now I can see cars making turns on it with my Hikvision ColorVu. Due to trees being in the way I can only see the North half of it.

@Wildcat_1 Tell us more about the new IVS rule!
Dahua have now added a specific Smart Plan option (and associated Event Configuration) for Object Monitoring. Specifically you can create rules under this separate Smart Plan for Object Placement and Object Removal. While standard IVS rules have had Abandoned Object & Missing Object traditionally associated with security events, this new Event is more focused on the real world use of items placed in an area (on purpose) and then removed (on purpose ;)). Since you can link these to the standard audio and light based alerts you can now imagine a 'You've Got Mail' wav file playing to the delivery service as they drop off a package or a 'Get Out Of Here You Nosy Little Pervert or I'm Gonna Slap You Silly' (this one courtesy of the movie Home Alone of course) when someone attempts to remove the package :). All joking aside, its great to see this being added into these camera ranges as Object Monitoring is built on AI focused specifically on bags, boxes, packages etc as opposed to the standard AI algorithms. Will be testing out the accuracy of this.

Will be great for porches/front entrances/lobby areas of businesses etc that want to specifically have a cam looking out for package / mail deliveries and alerting accordingly

The DORI is the part I was interested in. I wanted to see how close you can identify someone. I will be interested to see what Wildcat_1 has in his writeup.

Lens Detect Observe Recognize Identify: 2.8mm 82.8m (271.7 ft) 33.1m (108.6 ft) 16.6m (54.5 ft) 8.3m (27.2 ft)

I’m testing all of this + ‘real world’ performance in ‘regular’ lighting conditions (bulb, spotlight, illuminators) currently and will be looking to get the review up soon. Just making sure that any bugs I’m finding are fed back and are getting new FW releases to test against.

I'm hoping the price in the Uk is around the same as the Hikvision comparable model which is £120 Plus VAT
