I currently have 2 5442 cameras deployed with Dahua's IVS rules. One is a varifocal turrent, the other a 6mm fixed lens.

The 6mm fixed lens is triggering constantly, I assume due to reflections and/or shadows. This is strange, as I have not had issues with the other camera.
I assume this is due to the scene being much closer than my "overview" varifocal camera.
As I am continuing to install more of those cameras, I'd like to check with the brain trust here to see if I should tweak the settings.

I attached a video of the trigger to this post. I also include the settings below.
One thing I noticed is the Min Size setting. I have set it to a size of a typical person in the image.
But the UI is a bit confusing, so I am not sure if the setting is taking effect or not. If I save it, when I come back to the config page, it reverts back to Max Size.

What are you using to record?
Make sure that Motion Detection and SMB are both turned off.
Be sure to only use Internet Explorer to make settings changes to the camera.

BlueIris is recording continuously, and also receiving IVS events via ONVIF trigger.
Only IVS engine is on, everything else is disabled on the camera.

I can do that if absolutely necessary, but I will need to spin up a VM with Windows 10. Luckily IE is still available in Windows 10 (for now).
So far I have been able to configure everything using modern browsers, though perhaps less reliably than using their ActiveX plugins or whatnot.

Another thing I am wondering, is there any way to enable additional logging in the camera in order to verify what's triggering the events?

I found this tidbit on Dahua's wiki:

Avoid areas such as glass, reflective ground, water surface, and areas interfered by branch, shadow and mosquito. Avoid backlight scene and direct light.
This camera definitely is exposed to both reflective surfaces and shadows in the way the overhead is not.

I wonder if the busy scene is fooling IVS into thinking the car is a "new" object. I get no falses if the van is not parked there.
One option I have is to disable car detection on that camera, keep it on the overhead. But I wanted to check with the experts first :).

I think it’s close enough that it sees the shadows on the vehicle and thinks it’s moving ... I’d set to human only
This is what I did a couple days ago. No more false alerts!

Good to know/learn the limitations of the technology and know for future applications.
