We've been having the same thing here, Andy. Just a few kilometers from me, say 10 or 15 km, they got almost 25cm of rain in under three hours on Saturday night. At my house we got about 8cm in an hour, we missed the worst of it. I've seen videos of stairways in the NYC subway system that look like waterfalls with about a meter of water on the platforms, but the trains keep running, how I have no idea since they're 600VDC powered through the rails.

One day later in China... everything brand new like nothing happen.

Rest of the world: lets discuss what we can make better next time ... 2 years later.. all streets and damages are repaired now..

All my china packages are delayed.. even aliexpress shows now warnings for possible delays ...

Maybe USA got hand over some alien weather machine... they try it now

UK the same in the South, this was central London, never floods:

Now there's scorching heat waves all over the planet.

The leaders need to listen and tackle emissions urgently. I think the days of denying it are gone.

FEDEX has some delay now because of the bad weather. A hurricane just hit HONGKONG and South China yesterday.

My lawn has turned to dirt. I quit watering. I think I'll get some desert plants that like Snow. We've had smoke in the air for 2 days as well. Not like California smoke, but it's definitely keeping the temps down.

Our weather doesn’t seem so bad after seeing those flood videos. I’ll take the heat over a flood!

My lawn is still surviving but I’m watering pretty heavy to keep my new sod alive!

This has been the wettest summer I can remember in San Antonio Texas since we moved here in 2013. It is freak'n great! I have hand watered the lawn twice since May! Normally by this time, my lawn is starting to resemble the back of my head.....not good. Also, I don't even think we have hit 100 yet, which is VERY STRANGE. I'll take it, that's for sure! I am sure August will bring back the hellish type temps and heat. No doubt. But until then, I will continue to enjoy our wet bounty. However, the crazy ass winter we had devastated our landscapes here...we alone lost 2 tree's, 6 12' tall shrubs, 2 7 ' shrubs, and at least a third of my Saint Augustine grass, which I have yet to fully recover from. So the rain is a blessing to us, for sure.

Andy, my wife is from the Philippines. She is very familiar with the devastation that flooding brings. I am sorry it is happening to your country. Europe as well.

Its sad that you cannot get real information from situation in china... seems that their media control just block everything or you can just find it when you look up on their platforms in chinese. there are some youtube videos which claims dam fails of some water reservoirs .. because backlog maintaince ... but not sure if its all fakenews ...

i feel bad for this guy
