Ok, so I got the cameras setup and working correctly with the NVR finally after some great help and advice from you guys. I have successfully setup remote viewing and port forwarding. I also have setup the remote connection to each camera through the NVR. Now I need assistance in a couple other areas.

1) My 12mm 2032i camera becomes really grainy if i change any of the image settings off of just 1080p. Any way to reduce that graininess?
2) I know the cameras themselves support FTP upload and emailing. Can I setup the NVR to do this for every camera? If I setup the settings on each camera, will it work that way?
3) I want continuous recording for all my cameras but want some way to see in the timeline where there was motion. Anyway to do this?
4) Playback on some of the cameras has green boxes where motion is detected. How do you get rid of the boxes?
5) What are WDR, Exposure, or capture mode settings?
6) What is SVC, and what are best settings for 3MP cameras (bitrate variable or constant, video quality setting, framerate setting, max bitrate setting).
7) Would it be smart to use 264+ for the 4 4MP cameras that support it? Or does it really matter?
8) The 4MP cameras I can't view through the web browser, there is just flashing.....what is the issue? I searched for white flashing and saw others have had this issue but didn't find a solution.

And on a bit of a side note, I just got my 3132 dome cameras in last week and am determining where to install them. Coming through the attic and insulation up there, do you think its a fire hazard using POE and having the connection from the Cat5e cord to the camera cord, sitting up in that insulation? I want the camera flush with the ceiling but then the connection has to be up in the attic....

You should be able to remove this by disabling 'Rules' under Local Configuration in either / both the camera and NVR web GUI, wherever it is enabled.

You can confirm this yourself with a Google search - loft insulation (at least in the UK) uses (used to) glass fibre, or rock / mineral wool, neither of which are flammable.
The joists are wood though - and that's a different matter ...

It won't be going near joists, just straight through the Sheetrock. How do others make it flush with the ceiling?
