Does having a zoomed in preset location help trigger rules like tripwire or intrusion provided the rule was setup at that zoom/preset?

Every preset needs to have an IVS rule set up if you want autotracking to work.

But if the zoom is too tight, then the camera algorithm doesn't have time to see the object and make a determination on if it should be tracked or not.

But zoomed out too wide and it can't make out the object either.

So it is a balancing act for each field of view.

These things are not plug-n-play and take time to dial them in.

Heck I have had mine for years and I am still tweaking it LOL.

As you learn more and expand your system and get more opportunities to see how the tracking performs, you make minor changes to try to improve the performance.

I’ve read your posts and learned it takes time for the camera’s algorithms to acknowledge an event/rule. I’m concerned that I’m setting a tripwire/intrusion too close to where a vehicle enters and that once they’re inside the rule area, I can’t pick them up anymore. It’s a give and take relationship and I’ll keep playing with it. I also thought it was having trouble picking up darker vehicles and monkeyed with something I had working ‍♂. Do you think zooming in say where I can see only about 4-5 truck lengths on the image below and setting a tripwire zigzag would pickup more triggers?

I set the tripwire and someone walking a dog was picked up and was outlined with a blue box but, the camera didn’t record or zoom in on them. It definitely recognized them though.

Yeah I would zoom in some.

And remember what I said that things like contrast, brightness, gamma, etc. all play a role in it identifying the object.

And try a zigzag and try intrusion - every field of view is different and maybe intrusion would work better in this instance.

And you are seeing the IVS tripwires on the image and the object is passing thru it and not triggering?

Copy. I’ve got the contrast 8pts higher than brightness. Gamma is @ 50%. Is it ok if two rules overlap? Say the zigzag is in the intrusion area?

Yes sir. I see the zigzag and just as the walker breaches a zig, the blue box encompasses the walker.

I prefer to not have them overlap and to test independently but if you only have two going on, it should be ok

that’s what I got. I’ll delete one if need be. There’s two roads running parallel with mine in the foreground.

Will do. I just don’t know why the blue box was around them and the person not targeted/recorded . I’ll see what happens throughout the day.

That did it. Now it seems to be picking up from both going and coming directions. I’d also switched the zoom to manuel. I switched that to Auto.
