Came home to see this down the street. Ugh!!

Looked back on my camera to see who did it. Who would you guess?

Could it be this USPS mailman?

Surely not.

But sure enough, he throws it out his van as he leaves!!! (Skip about 1 min in if you are in a hurry)

Here is the full shot

I went down and picked it up, and noticed he also threw his documents out too

At least I have some good face shots, as I could not find any numbers on the van

The postal workers here use one of those USB endoscope cameras to search for anything they think might have a gift card or money.

Many neighbors kids lose out on graduation cards with money or gift cards due to this.

The holiday cards we get all have the same little tear just big enough for one of those to go into.

Yep, any time I get new credit cards I tell the bank to ship them UPS or FedEx, all too many lost credit cards. Last ones that went missing got spent at a custom wheel shop around the corner from the post office, go figure.

Over here we have cctv in the mail sorting rooms and banks ship credit / debit cards unactivated, so they're useless until the person receiving them uses them chip and pin correctly 1st time or puts them in a cash machine (which alos requires their pin of course) and activates them manually. Our banks ship pin numbers in different letters several days apart from the cards and they come from different places so go to different sorting offices.

We still get some mail theft but it's rare and not bank cards.

Yeah, that's what puzzled me too when @IReallyLikePizza2 said that about someone using the stolen cards. When I've received one to replace an expired one you have call in on a toll free number and between a combination of it detecting your cell phone number, asking for the first 3 numbers in your mailing address, last 4 of SSN or other things it decides to activate the card.

Same process here regarding the PIN arriving days apart from the card...I've observed this when getting a card for the very first time like when opening an account.

when my truck was totaled last year...the insurance company sent two checks because for some reason they dont do direct deposit. I saw both check envelopes in my email service I get from post office..the checks never showed up. Went to post office....nothing. Talked to mail carrier... he was on vacation that week and maybe the guy filling in accidentally delivered to wrong box....?? what a hassle...
