3G/4G Wireless N router education needed

What the heck is 3G/4G wireless router ?? here in the Uk with have 3G and 4G but that relates to a phone carriers connection to a mobile device

How does it relate to a router ?? as far as i am aware in the Uk we do not have such things so if any of you want to give me a quick overview of what it is and why it is used i guess only in the States i would much appreciate it, is it used to give a wider coverage perhaps ?? confused am i

very curious as i have just found out they exist

very curious as i have just found out they exist
it will accept a usb modem for 3g/4g operation. Many use this as a backup wan connection

So if your telephone line connection goes down, you use a cell carriers 3G/4G !
Yes. Some users use it as a primary connected, depending on their plan/location.

Primary ! ouch, i guess if its all you can get due to distances from a telephone line then anything is better than nothing

luckily in the Uk we are blessed with high speeds and high coverage but thats only because we are a small rock in the Atlantic, no doubt there are areas in the Uk suffering with poor connectivity but generally our speeds dont even warrant using speed check websites anymore, it just works and has no limits ( mostly ) kinda like water from a tap
