Hey guys,

I would like to start this thread to hopefully obtain help to solve my lack of access to my cameras from the internet. I would like to access my cameras from my mobile devices, iPhone and iPad primarily.

I have one question after viewing multiple threads about Port Forwarding. I'm using two DS– 2CD2332-I cameras. Both my cameras are on 192.168.254 networks. Should they be on a 192.168.1 network? My router does not allow me to port forward to the .254 network.

I will start here and perhaps this is where the problem resides and request input from you guys.

Please let me know if you require screenshots of my configuration.

if they are on a .254 because of the nvr, then you simply port forward the nvr not the cameras. What is your setup?

Thanks for your quick response.

I have a DS-7608NI-E2/8P (firmware v3.3.2 build 150522) with two DS-2CD2332-1 (firmware V5.2.0 build 140721) cams. I can access both cams via the NVR. I have Virtual Host enabled.

UPnP not enabled
DDNS not enabled
Cloud not enabled
NVR IP: 192.168.1.13
Default GW: 192.168.1.1
DNS 8.8.8.8
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Standard ports, HTTP Port 80, RTSP Port 554, HTTPS Port 443, Server Port 8000

Via my router are you saying to set the following??

Start Port:8000/End Port:8000/Server IP Address:192.168.1.13

if you are using the ivms4500 mobile app, set the port to 8000. Make sure you forward BOTH media port 8000 AND the rtsp port which should be 8554 or 554. Use the NVR ip address in the app.

I added the RTSP port, 554 but I still get 'Connection failed' from my iPhone when I attempt Live View.

I can connect from my local network but not when connected externally.

Yes, it's 554.
is 8000 and 554 reported open by canyouseeme.org? post an image of your routers port forward settings.
is your phone on home wifi? are you using a router modem combo? if so, try using your cellular connection.

Yes, canyouseeme.org reports success to both 8000 and 554. I'm going back and forth on my iPhone, wifi to cellular. wifi works, cellular fails. My router and modem are separate.

I don't understand your question. External IP's where?
if you are entering your local ip address 192.168.1.13 in your phone application, then of course it wont work when on cellular. You need to enter your external ip address.
You will also have to sign up for a dynamic dns service so that you can connect even after the ip address changes.

Oh boy, silly me. That would be the problem. I will try this when I get back home. Thx
