Lads, got a push notification off my cameras today, all normal, could play back. Opened DMSS again later and find I am being asked to sign in to an account in order to use it.

They are a nuiscance. Why do they need my email address all of a sudden. Their apps worked without the need for this for years. Now it just a commie data collection service

Just to add, I tried re-adding my cameras and it tells me the device already exists. So they have literally restricted me from viewing my own devices.

Turn off app auto updates. No idea why people dont learn this

In order to work with alerts/P2p the DMSS App requires you to have P2P enabled and to be logged into the Dahua cloud account. been that way for a while. You may have been previous and didnt know it. New udpate may have lost credentials. I havent updated mine is over 6 months as I wait to see what problems the update creates first

I don’t see where you turn off auto updates? I have a iPhone.

Two minutes searching and I find THIS
We have this amazing new technology called the internet. And on it, you can search for practically anything in seconds. Just sayin. ;)

I know that, I didn’t know if there was something strictly for DMSS. Thank you Brad!

I get most excited when DMSS gets updated for my Android (don't use apple devices). With the expectation that Dahua will sort the most weakest part of the system for mobile/tablet devices, for live view/playback, etc.
Indeed the latest release, it sometimes forces login/email. On Android: Close & Force stop the DMSS application. Works for me & resolves.
Another issue with the newest version, is the removal of the noise reduction (NR) settings!

Come on Dahua, sort it out!

Deleting the app solved this. Dahua are really a pain in the arse. I would not be surprised if they did force users down this route

Latest update added some features, including “favorites” and a three line button in the upper right of the Home Screen that I forget what it said was for… but for me, it’s only useful for immediately crashing the app.

Seems also that after one of latest updates there is no longer ability to adjust PTZ control speed in DMSS. Can be sometimes very tricky to steer camera accurately.

This for me is the biggest problem, now my PTZ cameras go spinning in circles, zoom too far, it's a nightmare. I'm really starting to regret buying Dahua cameras
Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

I have been in touch with Dahua support, there should be coming an update regarding speed adjustment later. Don't know why they did take it off in the first place...

Have you tried Amcrest view pro2. Works on your local LAN much better than DMSS. I haven't used it for P2P for any remote off LAN use.
