Help resetting nvr with limited information

I have a nvr that I'm trying to reset. it has 8 poe exits, says "embedded dvr" when it boots. It has a DS-80189 motherboard and some of the chips say ic plus. When i open it with the hikvision sadp tool it says 9028 under device type. (no ds- or anything). It is branded CamVision, so i think it's a rebranded version of some nvr. When you try typing in the password it's only showing numbers, no letters.

There is no reset button and I can't find which jumpers to short. I've tried removing the battery but it seems like it does nothing, as the same user (non default user is present)

Any recommendations?
 
Update: I managed to reset through sadp - I had to remove 9028 from the serial number. It says it succeeded, but i dont get an option to set new password. And 12345 is not working.

I can however see that i updated and removed the custom user, and now just says "user" below the "camvision" user. So anyone who can recommend what to do from here?
 
For the extremely cheap cost of a basic recorder, sounds like a it's hardly worth the trouble.
