Does anyone have any experience with this particular camera, or can suggest one like it. (I'm mostly intrigued by the price).

I have 6 cameras now... all Amcrest IP 1080p's. The two interior cameras have P/T and digital Zoom.
So I was thinking of including something I could mess with that's Outdoor rated, has substantial real Zoom, and will get along with my BI install.

Thoughts?

if your just wanting a toy to play with, go with the Huisun.. 12x is pretty good for most cases.. $150 wont break you.

your hitting danger zone where your paying alot of money for some relatively poor stuff.. for twice that price you can get awesome ptz's with badass zoom that are reliable and reputable, you wont be worrying about throwing money away.. so you only need to replace one of these once and your already exceeding the cost of just going with one of these:

Unlike a Fixed Camera, a good all weather PTZ is a roll of the dice with cheap components.. its got moving parts so the complexity, and failure rates just went up several orders of magnitude.

Nothing wrong playing with the cheap PTZ's as long as you dont invest alot of money in them, if you can afford to replace them 2-3x more frequently and its not a critical application.. all the power to yeh.. but thats alot of money for alot of unknowns.

You get what you pay for.. usually.

I liked the total feature set of this camera, and after using the audio on my two indoor cams, I wanted to include audio... if the sound quality is bad, I can always just turn that off.
I think the Dome camera will be less visually offensive if hanging down just below the eaves of the house instead of a Bullet type pointing out from the wall as if it is truly "aimed" at someone.
Was looking at several threads here on the forum, and just decided I'd give this one a try.

I'm a huge fan of eBay, but this is my first "Ali" purchase. Hope it goes well.
 
To be honest... I'm not sure what is going to arrive.
The Title says 150m IR range, and 20X Zoom, but elsewhere on the page it lists 100m IR and 10X Zoom.
Then lower in the listing it states again 20X Zoom.

If I try to go to their website (as I did last night) all I get is browser errors and a bunch of Chinese gibberish.
Today I can at least get a home page, but "Search" doesn't work and links from the home page take me to "sub gibberish."

God, I hope the camera is better than the website. :nuts:
 
I believe there are several users here with that camera, its nothing special.. but it works.

This camera looks just like my Sunba camera, which is a 4 inch mini dome PTZ. Specs look very similar and the camera appears to be identical in appearance. Makes you wonder who really makes the original and who makes the copy. See this thread for more details on the Sunba version:

I read every line of that thread last night... part of the reason I went ahead and pulled the trigger to buy a Dome.
I was looking at a Sunba earlier, but it was a huge thing that looked about the size of a basketball... ugh. I found the Imporx "mini" and liked it better, but never saw the same in the Sunba line.
There were some close-up photos of a Sunba that showed poor factory paint work and bad fitment of the side panels... that scared me away.

But you're right... the probably both come from the same assembly lines anyway.

I think the same as you about the feature and the more discrete aspect (dome vs bullet) and I have the same concern about Ali.

I saw the same contradiction in their title about 20X and 10X Zoom and its seem to be a typo error because into the detailed spec in booth case they appears like this: Focus length4,7-94MM(F1.6-F2.7)

Saw your thread last night also. Once I get my camera, I'll post some insight. No sense starting my own thread about it.

I've got Friday off and may get a chance to mess with it.
I'll certainly post something when I can.

Mostly at this point I'm anxious to see if the specs of the camera match what I thought I was buying. :)
 
Well, the box was in great shape... it wasn't double boxed with crushable interior pieces, but there appeared to be no damage at all from the outside:

Now, before I apply power... There is a sticker on the outside of the camera indicating the IP as 192.168.1.10. I assume that I can hook up an Ethernet cable direct to the router, power up the camera, and the device will assume that IP on my network. Do I need to make sure that there are no other devices at that address first (there shouldn't be, as I've assigned Static IP's to every item in my home and left the bottom 20 for DHCP assignments and visitors devices).

The last thing I want to be doing is depending on everyone's help because I "bricked" this thing right out of the box... so no firmware upgrades or major configuration changes. Just an assignment of its own private IP and a password change if it prompts.

I assume then that I can power up, open a browser and log into that IP on port 80 and have a look around... right? :)

Ok, I couldn't help myself... This thing is a gas.

Mounted it on an upright board attached to my desk for a bench test,
Applied power,
Fought the Active-X driver for a while (ugh).
Logged in,
Updated the Password,
Updated IP to fixed address,
Logged back in... duh,
Gave the camera a name (Robo Cam),
Set the Frame Rate,
Configured Date and Time for proper zone,
Played around with PTZ (hey - that's what it's for),
Logged out.

Opened BI,
Added camera,
Ran configure,
Discovered ONVIF default was 8899 not 8999
Re-ran configure,
Found camera,
Wooohooo...

Can't wait to hang this thing outside and get some clips to show.

[There was very little documentation in the box, and I still cannot determine if this is a 10x zoom or the 20x that I ordered... does anyone know how to tell?]

inside it'll be hard to test heh.. you have a 2.9 degree FOV if its a 20x.. thats like a yardstick wide @ ~55ft, A Rulers width @ ~20ft

looks like it's loaded with IR, which would be overkill if it was merely 10x zoom.. but just about right for 20x. not all of them come on at once, some are wide angle, some are narrow angle, some are inbetween and it selects which ones depending on zoom level so you get decent lighting w/out hotspots.

Nayr do you have or know how these cams work if it's snowing and ice form on it? ( yes I guess it's best to have it as much under cover as possible as always). But wanted to know if they normally can take some lighter beating in that way? ( jmartin sorry for hijacking your thread )
