1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

Here's the camera as it comes to the consumer with default settings as if it would be just plugged in and not optimized. I'm going to look over the settings and light functions and do another test tomorrow night. There is a spotlight that turns on with the default settings when an AI event happens. Will like to see what just the IR does tomorrow.

Try setting it to Shutter Priority in UniFi Protect

First thing I noticed is smearing during motion (not as bad as the T54PRO though); in the distance, it appears as if the subject is disappearing in the distance.

As expected, that is awful on default settings with movement. And shocked at how poor the distance is on default settings.
Yep, if only settings could be better optimized through manually configured settings

I don't think dahua will have more 1/1.2cmos in the later 1-2 years, the chips price is going very very crazy. They have to consider the consumers' ablility to buy and use them.

The color4K-T price will go up to 350usd very soon from the rapid price increase on chips, 54IR-ZE also will be increased to 300usd. Almost double compare to the 2025.
We are tired of this crazy things, keep higher stocks=big risks, but looks like no good news about the DDR price in the near future.
Arjun know this, i told him all in Micron, he said that is bubble 2 months ago, that time Micron still at 400usd, now 1000usd

Micron still a good buy ?
If down big sure can buy, at 1000usd it's expensive, but the market is crazy. Sandisk now 1700usd. We are on the very front of the real market, so know well. When the price down, i will let you guys know.

All cams need light, no matter LED or IR, or else the night pics can't be good.
So want to get full color good pics at low light place, the camera need very strong LED light. So that is why some guys complain the LED model's light is too strong. Hybrid camera sure have its advantages, but for the pics at low light i am still think the pure IR or LED are the best.

I still believe the only way forward for the industry is go large. Ai simply caanot make up or light gathering ability.

I'm, also puzzled why the CCTV industry seems so badly affected as the camera industry doesn't seem to have suffered big rises.

GoPro's have never been cheaper:

Admittedly there is some rumour they're in financial difficulties, but even so, it's relected in others as well, eg Insta 360 X4, can now get a whole bundle + camera for £389:

I believe previously these cameras were both in the £500 price range

And it could be even worse..

Now we how big boom for AI in datacenter. New data centers created are like crazy rabbits from hats all around world.

In a few years we will have big switch to local AI - on mobile, on tablet, on computer, on home devices. Mostly due privacy reason and high prices for cloud AI services.

Stupid fridge will be required to have 64GB RAM and some crazy powerful SOC (CPU/NPU) to run locally AI which looks at your food in fridge using cameras an inform you that your tomatoes are not fresh and must buy a new ones...

Or your mobile, tablet, TV, audio speaker or even CCTV camera.

A few years ago (before AI detection), all cams had 128-256MB RAM.. Now we have models with 2GB (new 5459-PRO) and 4GB RAM (new 7459)...

Look how camera firmware files increased in size.. And they are fully compressed. They must be fully loaded and uncompressed to RAM memory, to run AI models 24/7 on NPU..
