Android TV devices recommended for tinyCam Monitor PRO w/ background mode and web server

Be sure Stream profile in tinyCam app drawer is set to Main. Not to Auto. In auto mode tinyCam uses sub stream when in multiple cameras layout mode and main stream in full screen.

    Problem with Dahua

OK. Let me explain. H264 stream consists of P/B frames and I frames (keyframes). Typically for 1080p P/B frame is about 20KiB, keyframe can be 300 KiB. Let's assume that keyframe is going every second and you have 5 fps. So bandwidth usage will be (KiB) 300, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 300, 20, 20, 20...

    Problem with Dahua

The problem might be deeper. tinyCam does not maintain any buffer and shows image immediately. In some cases there is a slight lag right before keyframe (since it is bigger frame). The question is: does this happen right after keyframe? gDMSS most probably have that buffer for smoother playback.

tinyCam 13.2.1 allows Blue Iris alerts playback (MP4 only)

There is a technology called fragmented MP4 (fMP4). It acts exactly as BVR - allows simultaneous recording and playback the same MP4 file. BI unfortunately does not support fMP4.

tinyCam PRO free image for Raspberry Pi 3B

You need to extract tinycam_rpi3.zip on your local PC storage, not to SD card. Then run android-thing~utility binary (you need to extract it as well) and specify path to iot_rpi3.img
