    Can Dahua do this?

That is not an option since I use a retention period of 30 days, btw: the main question was if it's true Dahua IP camera's can not directly use a network share or NAS as storage media.

    Can Dahua do this?

I want to record the streams directly to storage without interfering of any application, using the camera's recording native format. For continuous recording I don't want any application like BI so it uses applicattion's encoding but anyway this is a completely different discussion. By multiple...

    Can Dahua do this?

I am asking this since I have no idea about what Dahua can (or not), and I am being something told which I hardly can digest hence need your help/advice. At home I use a few camera's (all less familiar Chinese brands) with and without audio, with different resolutions, some are starlight, ... I...

Looking for a cheap small PTZ

You can find here enough 1.0MP outdoor PTZ with often 4x Zoom IP camera's, few even POE and with IR. And there would be a big sale in 2 days so you may find a good one at AliExpress. Just don't expect high resolution or being good in low light or even higher number of zoom for that price!

    Mystery IMX290 2.8-12mm varifocal vs Hikvision DS-2CD2332 6mm

Maybe with your interest and especially in-depth knowledge of mini PTZ (and also contribution to forum) you could try the new series of these cams with IMX291 sensor. Different brands - even the newer ones shipped with IMX322 - were blamed not performing very well in low light. I was wondering...

who knows a PTZ outdoor camera 2MP under AU$300?

Question was under 300 Australian Dollar if I read correctly, which is something like 222 USD. @ldasilva, where did you buy yours for that price? @wozzzzza the mentioned Dahua costs here the cheapest for about 338 USD (approx. 455AU)!

    Ethernet over power lines

You may consider other options than PowerLine too, I have been using for almost 3 years 2 set of LinkSys PLSK400 adapters to transfer ethernet signal over a 3-stories house since I also had no option for additional (UTP) wiring. Initially it was meant to transfer IP signal for Interactive TV's...

    S800 vs S500

Weird, I checked the post yesterday and images (mostly PNG) were just there. Now I see those are not inline any more, and all file names have been changed. Anyway, re-uploaded the images once more!

    S800 vs S500

And here I've a few photo's, including 3 made by Ganvis camera's to compare. The fist 3 were taken when the GV-T530A, GV-T525V and Y-Cam were not installed outdoor yet. I used an empty box on windows shelf and put 2 Ganvis and one Y-Cam to monitor the front door for months, so these 3 cams were...

    S800 vs S500

Hmmm, hard to say. The ActiveX based GUI in IE contains a System related tab but I do not see any details there mentioning firmware specs. I tried to connect the camera's kernel but it's not working so I've no idea. Using telnet I'm requested to enter credential but the one I know (amin/admin)...

    S800 vs S500

To me is the picture quality in daylight very good. It also depends to what you compare and what you exactly don't like about daylight performance. I have another HD cam Y-Cam (which cost me $265) and this Sectec records in daylight 50x better than it. I still have noticed something about...
