If you're referring to using the same computer to serve as something like a home theater NAS for movies, I'd be careful with that. Blue Iris is CPU intensive and if your running something like Plex or something that requires realtime re-encoding for movies your CPU may melt a hole right through...

Interesting, I also have a Ubiquiti switch. After resetting it, I used a short patch cable to test it overnight and it worked without issue. I guess at this point I would try the basics, power cycling the switch. I reset mine while utilizing an AC adapter plugged into the pigtail only.

When you say you "reset" it, did you do a hard reset where you hold the button down inside the camera? I had this same issue with the same camera. The hard reset fixed mine.

I'm using all WD Red drives in my BI machine...never experienced an issue.

Aristo, Can you show what the custom alert is in Blue Iris? This was the reason why I didn't use IVS as it always turned the video motion on. Thanks!

In BI, I would clear all the zones A-H. Then just use zone A to highlight the area you want motion in...stay away from that light and the reflection on the siding. Once that is set play one of your recorded clips for that cam right click and select "run video through motion test" Zone A should...

I specifically use BI so I cant comment on IVS too much. Someone on here will help you with that...I just cant believe there wouldn't be some type of exclusion feature in the camera config. GL

Wait IVS doesn't have masking or exclusion areas??

I don't know what your setup is as far as BI or NVR but you should be able to play with the masking or zones to leave that small area out.

Thanks for the 3.3v pin info. This wasn't an issue with my older drives. Went and picked up a couple more today, haven't broke into them yet but this info will help alot. Looks like a little heat tape on the 3rd pin and we're good to go.
