Flickers are random, so would need to keep the camera out for a while. It is also crazy cold now outside, it would cost more to reheat the house with a window open than this camera costed :) -

Alright, trying it without IR light, just white light, still in basement. Will have to decide next steps after that. Yes, I can try outside, but it means taking off another existing camera because I don't have free Ethernet cables. Trying it indoors behind a window will be problematic for IR... -

The only settings I really changed was the frame rate and i-frame both at 15fps. The other stuff I may changed but put back to default later, the main try being the WDR. Video below shows the settings. I am not keen to test this camera outside because it needs non-trivial work to mount... -

Sorry to contradict you @wittaj but I flipped the camera upside down and that left camera still keeps flickering even though it is now pointing in the other direction. And the right camera has no flicker. Here is the video. -

Which one you suggest? The good 1/1.8 sensor has a distorted aspect ratio that I don't like, and costs 3-4 times this one from ANNKE. On top of that, the Empiretech has no IR or light, just external lighting. So, this cheaper ANNKE was not that bad on paper. -

@wittaj there is nothing moving or changing, not even bugs. Why would the camera try to adjust when nothing changes? I can flip the camera upside down to see if that side still continues to flicker when on the other side. -

Ok, I bought the FCD600 from ANNKE, and turned out to be faulty. I set it up for testing purposes for a couple of days in a basement. The left camera has some sort of random flicker that triggers the basic motion detection. I have not tried putting the camera out to detect humans and cars... -

Mounting to Soffit with no backing?
This was a how it looks after mounting. I didn't know about the flush mount, had to fight to fit it flush where it is now, with snow under my feet :)- blocksog
