Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

I'm finally ready to upgrade to BI5, but plan on installing it on a new setup (Yes, I'll deactivate the old one). I have only a few cameras, and will be swapping a number of those for new cameras. I prefer to do a "clean" install from scratch. What can you recommend for this? I plan on...

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

In other words, the extra $5 is insurance against future aggravation. I think I can deal with that. The current system is an Intel i7 with 8 gb of Ram. I'm only dealing with 8 cams, possibly up to 10 in the future, so I THINK I don't need a serious system upgrade. Am I on the right track here?

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

OK... It looks like the bugs have been mostly worked out from BI5, and I need to do an update of my video security system anyway. So, what do I do? I understand that I need to either do a serious backup, or just resign myself to setting it up from scratch. I'm good with that. But for the...

Rloading Blue Iris On Same Computer

Thanks Fenderman! Yes, I know it's old, but I was quite happy with how it was running, and my past experience with software has taught me to not upgrade unless I ran into a problem or there was a new feature that I really wanted. If for some reason I cannot get to the "export settings"...

Rloading Blue Iris On Same Computer

I have the license key, but am not sure if I can get to the "deactivate" button or the "export settings" button. Also, I only went with "basic" support when I purchased BlueIris. Am I able to install a newer version without running into the "Major Upgrade" wall? My current version is...

Rloading Blue Iris On Same Computer

The only capture images I'm saving are simply quick grabs of one camera, in a "rotating" sequential file that keeps just the past several images. As far as archived clips are concerned, I only have a few hundred, and those are overwritten as they age, or if storage space becomes an issue.

Rloading Blue Iris On Same Computer

Before I do this I want to make sure I'm doing it right, and don't end up having to purchase a new license. After running smoothly for quite a long time, my installation of Blue Iris is suddenly having issues... The "service" appears to be running smoothly in the background, posting images and...

    Can't change camera layouts

D'oh! [yet another Homer Simpson facepalm moment] Yes, I figured it out, including the fact I was trying to make it more complicated than necessary.

    Can't change camera layouts

How do I manually change the camera layouts and save them? I've deselected the "drag lock" option, but still can't move or resize any of the camera view frames. Also, when I use the slider to adjust the size of a selected camera, that doesn't work. Only the size of the "earliest" camera added...

Can't get rid of a camera named "motion"

I have a niggling crash that keeps happening with Blue Iris. It's running as a service, and as far as I can tell that is actually running just fine. I will sometimes see a crash when I open the BI interface (through Remote Desktop). To recover, I have to open the task manager, and stop the BI...

    4.3.9 - June 8, 2016

Many thanks for the link. Reloading -9.0 did the trick, and it's running (mostly) smoothly right now. I did try reloading -9.1, and it still wouldn't boot.

    4.3.9 - June 8, 2016

Where can I find 4.3.9.0??? I just upgraded to 4.3.9.1 and now BI won't start.

No Signal all of a sudden.

Many possibilities: A bit of corrosion at the camera's RJ45 connection. A cable gone bad (it happens) Noise affecting the cable (fluorescent lights, or large electric motors) You've added a camera, or upped the bit-rate somehow and have reached a bandwidth limit somewhere in your network...

    Time Lapse Recording

To quote Homer: Doh! (with a facepalm) About as simple as I'd hoped, and staring me in the face if I'd looked closer at the options. Many thanks!

    Time Lapse Recording

I've figured out the part with cloning the camera and using the alt/framerate on one clone to create the time-lapse video. My problem is that I'd like to have the time-lapse video record to a separate folder (or even a different hard drive) to prevent it from being overwritten when the primary...
