Camera defect? Black spots in picture

I see. B&W seems to work indeed, many thanks for this. I will contact the seller for warranty.

Camera defect? Black spots in picture

Many thanks both, so basically what you are saying is that the only solution is to set it to B&W permanently and then can be done either via software or by hardware through unplugging a cable? No other option to get this back running normally?

Camera defect? Black spots in picture

I am the owner of a Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IS, and for the past year this has worked just fine. Over the last days however I am randomly noticing some random black spots and color distortions in the picture - see attached samples below. I took of the cover (see last picture) but the problem...

    Thanks for clarifying!

    Comparison DS-2CD2543G0-I(W)(S) and DS-2CD2542FWD-I(W)(S)

Confusing indeed, found their old naming conventions already difficult and now this. What I was wondering however is that they look different, the microphone seems to be different? See pictures under the links above. The circle highlighted in red does not appears on the other one. Any ideas?

    Comparison DS-2CD2543G0-I(W)(S) and DS-2CD2542FWD-I(W)(S)

Are there any major differences in these two mini dome models? Hard for me to tell based on the specs, but just from the pictures it looks like the 43G0 has the better mic? Here are the two models on the Hikvision page: DS-2CD2542FWD-I(W)(S) 4MP WDR Mini Dome Network Camera-Hikvision...

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated! Finally installed the camera two days ago. Rotate mode works nicely. Used a 28mm drill which was actually more than fine.

    That would be fantastic :)

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

Yeah agree that this would be the safest best, was just thinking to already order the drill bit to safe some time (cheaper to order online). With 7/8", would that be sufficient to pass through all three jacks (i.e. alarm, LAN and dc in) in your view? Guess it should be possible to put them...

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

That sounds promising, thanks!! Maybe you can even help me with another question while I wait for the camera to be delivered: My idea is to drill through the wall at the spot where the camera will be mounted, and put all the three cables through the wall directly, i.e. not using a junction box...

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

Thanks bamix, sounds like it might be quite tight then ... given that I actually will need to tilt it down quite significantly to get a good angle. That aside, I placed my order yesterday, so will just wait and see and if worst comes to worst just mount it horizontally. Will let you know!

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

For my DS-2CD2042WD-I, I was able to find it under Configuration > Image > Video Adjustment, then put ROTATE on ON. Major disadvantage of the format is the viewing on a normal 16:9 PC screen for instance, given that the picture is then 9:16. But most frequently I check single cameras on my...

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

Thanks Trax, makes sense with the 3-axis adjustment - according to certain websites it seems the model has it. Regarding rotation, basically I am looking to enable this mode: Hikvision USA For me, the mode works well with the DS-2CD2042WD-I -- except that this bullet cam can only be rotated as...

DS-2CD2542FWD-IS vertical wall mount & rotate

I intend to purchase a DS-2CD2542FWD-IS to monitor my staircase. However before I do so I wanted to make sure I can install it as intended: - Basically my only option is to install it on a vertical wall, facing towards the staircase to be monitored. - The camera will need to be tilted down by...
