    IPC-HFW1831E camera reset button

I definitely googled before posting, but I didn't find that page. Thanks!

Thanks - any idea where the reset button might be located after I take off the front?

    IPC-HFW1831E camera reset button

I recently bought an open box rebadged IPC-HFW1831E (Amcrest) that does not have the default password, so I need to find the camera reset button to reset it. The problem is, this camera has no visible external ports or screws. See the attached picture. Any idea how I get to the camera reset...

Bitrate for 8mp camera with h265

Thanks. For some reason this camera's firmware will only allow a CBR bitrate up to 9984, but I'll take some screenshots at different values. Presumably I'd want to have some movement in the screenshots to see if there's ghosting, or would that be more a shutter speed issue than a bitrate issue...

Bitrate for 8mp camera with h265

Thanks. Yea I was getting horrible macroblocking with VBR. Aside from macroblocking, what kind of things are you looking for in the video when trying different CBR settings?

Bitrate for 8mp camera with h265

Hi all - How can I find the right bitrate for my IPC-HFW1831E camera running at 3840x2160 resolution with h265? The Dahua software defaulted to 3072 Kb/s CBR (VBR is a mess with this camera). How do I figure out what a good CBR setting is on h265? Thanks

    IPC-HFW1831E mini bullet successor?

Hi all - Is there a good successor or replacement for the IPC-HFW1831E mini bullet? I have one and would like another, but they don't seem to be available anymore. What I really like about this model is that it has a 1/1.8" sensor in a compact unit and good low light performance, so I'm hoping...

Recordings get grainy then clear, repeatedly

Thanks - I'm outside trying out these settings at night right now. 1/120 shutter speed is fairly dark. 1/100 is not bad. I tried adjusting the gain up to 60 and it didn't seem to add ghosting. That said, it seems I can adjust the shutter speed or the gain and get similar pictures. Of those two...

Recordings get grainy then clear, repeatedly

I have a Dahua IPC-HFW1831E (EmpireTech) that I'm using a Synology Surveillance station to record with. Looking at the camera's live view, it seems fine, but looking through the recordings, at certain times of the day I'm seeing the picture starts to get artifacts and very grainy, then clear up...

Properly grounding shielded cat 6 cable

Thanks for the response! Yep, the first thing I did was double check termination, redo it several times just to be sure, etc. I also used a network cable tester to confirm correctness. Data speeds are just very low when using PCs to test. There's no easy way for me to confirm EMI, but I do...

Properly grounding shielded cat 6 cable

I have a current ip camera setup with cat 5e in my attic that is suffering from a lot of EMF interference, as it runs alongside power cables. I plan to replace these runs (there are no other location options) with shielded (S/UTP) cat 6 cable. I'm not sure how/where to ground the cable though. I...

    IPC-HFW1831E live view

Thanks - I got it working in IE. Any reason this camera would only work in IE but my Dahua mini dome from the same era works with any browser?

    IPC-HFW1831E live view

Any IPC-HFW1831E owners who can confirm whether live view in a web browser works for them? I have another Dahua mini camera where live view works fine, so I was surprised that this camera seems to be different. Thanks!
