Hi, I have the box checked on the About page for registering my IP address. When I try to use the blueiris.pro URL I get a web page showing my servers IP address and a message saying "key not found".
Maybe I misunderstood but I thought I could use that url to remotely access my BI server...
I owe you a nice fruit basket. The Configtool only worked when I ran it on my Blue Iris server. And I had to fiddle with the IP address range in the tool. It found the camera when I had the range set to 0.0.0.0 to 0.0.0.254. I was able to initialize both cameras tonight and change the IP...
Unfortunately I'm getting more confused as time goes by. Today I received a replacement camera from Andy as well as a second new camera from Andy. They are both the same model. I cannot connect to either of them either directly via web browser or by using the setup tool.
There's no way I got...
Yeah, I have a little spreadsheet where I keep track of those things. I logged in to the various static IP addresses to make sure.
I had set my other two Dahua cameras up via web browser, but this time I did fire up the config tool that comes with the cameras. My two working ones were visible...
Update: Andy is replacing the camera. He's a good man, but we already knew that. :)
In other news, I didn't know there is a hard reset button on the inside of the camera. The more you know!
Hey all,
My third Dahua 5231 arrived today; I've bought them all from Andy.
Before I reach out to him I want to check with the community to see if I am missing something.
When I tried to set this one up I wasn't able to get the config tool to work, nor am I able to hit the default IP...
Holy cow. I've been using Blue Iris for years and just figured out some of the features it can do.
NOTE: I realize I'm inviting criticism because I CLEARLY did not read the damn manual. :-)
Anyway, I actually did read some of the help file last weekend when I moved my BI server from an old...
@blake thank you for the tip about the mounting block. I had no idea they even existed.
If I'm understanding it correctly, it appears mounting blocks exist to provide a flat surface on an otherwise not-flat wall. So that should make my install look more professional. And I'll put it about 7...
Okay! I found a blind spot in my setup that needs to be addressed immediately. ;-)
I'd like to add a camera in the location where the red dot is. Reason being, we get deliveries at the side door, and sometimes the deliverymen actually drop off packages in the area right behind the red dot, as...
Thank you @bababouy for the compliment! We love the nuances of the old house - vaulted ceilings and built in cabinets and whatnot. Thank you and @guykuo for the advice on how to move forward. Andy sent me a second camera that should arrive tomorrow, so I'll get to experimenting with camera...
I'd like to get a camera near eye level on my front door. Thing is, I've got those two lights right about where I'd like to have a camera.
These lights are on at night to illuminate the front yard.
If I were to install a camera near those lights, would I run the risk of creating glare and...
Sorry, I should have been more clear - I looked at the link you posted yesterday and those PCs don't come with an Operating System. But I'm sure there are plenty of other deals out there!
Thanks! I'll look into the 6500. IIRC there's a way to back up all the Blue Iris settings and restore them on a new PC. I'll just have to figure out if I can transfer the Win 10 license. Not going to hold my breath on that one... Google will be my friend there. :)
