Recordings only last about 5 Hours (SOLVED)

Thank you for the advice. I just implemented your recommended changes as they do make sense. I've got an i7-8500 running the show, and it's a dedicated box, but I'm a fan of best practices. And when looney2ns agrees, well, it's a no brainer. The original reply did have the correct answer as...

Recordings only last about 5 Hours (SOLVED)

I'm trying that now. Windows shows 9.05TB. I've set that stored folder to 8500GB. We'll see if that does it. Thank you!!

    Mounting a Dahua 4231

I'd like to mount a Dahua 4231 camera to my house. I've got Ethernet run and ready to go up the wall to meet the camera, I just don't know the best way to mount it. I would think that a box from Andy would work, but I'm not sure how to mount that in a hole I cut into the siding on my house. I...

Recordings only last about 5 Hours (SOLVED)

I've got a BI 4 server with a 10TB HDD in it. I've noticed that for some reason my recordings for each of my 3 cameras only go for about 5 hours. I should be able to store WEEKS worth of video, but it's not working and I don't really know where to look. Here are some screenshots of a camera's...

    IPC-HDBW4231F-AS IR Always On

I will try resetting the camera back to defaults. However, I have setup a READ ONLY user on each camera (called "viewuser"). That is the account I'm using in BI to view the streams. Should I be using the admin account?

    IPC-HDBW4231F-AS IR Always On

I do have BlueIris running, but I only got it working this weekend. This was an issue before BI. I'm looking through the config in bi trying to find the IR option and not having much luck. Newbies, am I right? EDIT: I found the IR button (yeah, it's a button that looks like a light bulb)...

    IPC-HDBW4231F-AS IR Always On

I just purchased the camera from Andy along with two other 5321 ZE cameras. Those are working as expected. The 4231 will not turn off it's IR light, even during daytime. Where can I start looking first? I thought I had read something about this on the forum, but I'm not finding it again...

[SOLVED] New BI Install, Fails to Run First

I purchased BI back in January 2019. Yesterday (2019-03-02) I finished building my BI server, installed Win 10 Pro x64 and finally downloaded the BI installer from the email that IPCamTalk sent me in January. I installed the program, but when I run it for the first time, I get: "The...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

I've purchased one IPC-HDBW4231F-AS and two IPC-HDW5231R-ZE from @EMPIRETECANDY. I've got them on my dedicated Home Automation subnet that doesn't have access to the internet (blocked at pfSense firewall). I've got a stream from them on my TinyCam Pro app. Sweet! Now I'm looking for NTSC...

New Install: Camera Mount and Focal Length Questions

From what I understand, you want at least 100ppf (pixels per face) for the I in the DORI acronym (Identification). At the given distance, you should have 100 pixels. Anything closer, and you'll have more pixels and that should give better a better picture for identification. So with the 3.6mm...

New Install: Camera Mount and Focal Length Questions

Thank you so much for responding! It sounds like I could use the 2.8mm lens or the 3.6mm lens. It also sounds like ANGLE variable in the calculation in the cliffs notes does mean HFOV. The front door camera could probably use either and come out OK. If 3.6mm, then it would catch people...

New Install: Camera Mount and Focal Length Questions

My wife and I have decided it's time to get security cameras for the house. We've been seeing posts in the neighborhood's Facebook and NextDoor groups about people coming around and checking for boxes on porches. I don't want that to turn into breaking and entering. I've been reading a lot...
