Trying to avoid running a UPS, no room and no need for another maintenance prone item. I may go that route if all else fails. For the curious, I found what I was looking for, it's called a delay on make timer. Here is an example...

I actually tried that, but the product I tried (Bluetti EB3A) actually did not work in UPS mode with low loads. I am also trying to limit power consumption and losses. I was looking for an AC relay with variable timer/delay or something like that, very low passive loads.

So, my DB1C has been working OK, except for the annoying "feature" where it does not automatically reconnect after a power flicker. It seems it boots faster than my routers, looks for the wifi, then gives up before the wifi is back up. The doorbell is hard connected to a transformer at the panel...

Seems like Chinese luck. If you get a good one, its all aces. Mine is not as bad as Sebastian's, but it would never reconnect after a power outage. Since we get the odd power blip about once every 3 months here it was annoying to put it mildly. I thought I could replace the LiPo battery and see...

This is odd, so I would look at everything else. Not being condescending, but I found out through the years most times I had multiple "defective" units something else was wrong, either my measuring technique or the actual power source.

There is definitely a battery in there, I am replacing the battery in mine to see if it will fix my issue (my DB1C will not reconnect after a power outage).

I was talking about the wire connector screws, but yeah can't recall the size for certain. Had to dig in my bag of screws until I found something that matched.

Let me know how you make out with RMA request. They would not even ship me m4 screws, so I am curious to see how they deal with legit warranty replacements.

Looks like with the DB1 you get better quality/more reliable product. The video quality is a bit lower, but at least it connects, stays connected, and does not explode after the year is up (at least from comments I have seen). Wonder what corner they cut to "enhance shareholder value" on the DB1C.

Just ordered some 602030 batteries, 300mAh (looks like there is space for a little longer battery, and if i am soldering, I am upgrading!). I think the plan still is to get another doorbell when it comes back on sale, and "fix" this one and install it in a second location later on.

Thinking about returning it. I really don't want to take anything down, anchors, bracket etc. The chinese screws almost stripped on first install.
