I did the settings toy suggested, and it seems to work I think. Have to check a bit more but so far it seams to work way better. A bit worse image quality and delays if you look at the stream. But instead it records when it suppose to, and that is of course more important. Thank you very much...

I will try doing these changes. There are a bit to many settings for a casual like me :) It is not animals that Im looking for. Humans up to no good I would say. Most of them are the standard settings right now.

I have this camera: IPC-HDW5442T-ZE from EmpireTech and using BlueIris. If I read the description here: https://www.dahuasecurity.com it says identify 6m and detect 58m. My camera starts to record when something is approx 7 meters away. If it can detect 58 meter it should be able to start...

It didnt allow me to change the IP.

Ok, I found the IP with this tool. https://www.dahuasecurity.com/au/support/downloadCenter/tools/MaintenanceTools?child=342 But didnt work when I added it in BI. Perhaps needs some ports open in the firewall or something.

And how do I find the IP adress?

I ordered two of these to try. EmpireTech-IPC-T5442T-ZE I think I will also test the Blue Iris on my normal computer, and later perhaps get a dedicated computer for the cameras.

Thanks for the replies! Yes, probably to large area to cover with 8 cameras. I know I will not get a bulletproof solution with this. I guess you can call it something like a reasonably good solution, that is just as much to let people know that I have a bunch of cameras, as it is to make sure...

The more I try to read about different cameras, the more confused I get :) I want to have cameras covering as much as possible of this space: I have placed the red triangles where I think it would be smart to place cameras, could be wrong! So please feel free to recommend other places...
