on another note, i plan to keep hounding the pants lorex support until they have had enough of me...their quickness to close a ticket resembles the offshore IT helpdesk i have at work...they close the ticket before they even reach out to you!
yeah... with 2 kids and a baby, the likelihood of me being able research this is not happening....lucky if i get 5 mins to myself on the throne without a little one knocking and asking what im doing!
has anyone been successful in updating the firmware for the LNB8005C? Lorex support is horrible, they never reply with a good answer and always close the ticket. The firmware that came with them are on 2.460.
same here, NVR LNR6100 stated update firmware but there is no info on what they updated. Cant see anything new in the menus either... Also, i have contacted them numerous times for the camera firmware for LNB8005 series and they state there is no firmware update for them...which i find hard to...
This is what's in tinycam. The first one shows the camera type the second image is from advanced settings where u change the camera numbers.
To note, don't like connecting to internet for the NVR. Instead I can view thru internal network or via VPN with open VPN on android and Asus router.
You have to use the actual NVR ip address not the camera ip, then on tiny cam change the channel to 1,2, etc.
I can post the settings later which work for far...
Great advice on here. I was considering having to buy all new pre terminated cables... Then I found info on you tube after a full day on different videos. The cable checker tool is cheap and a must have. Main concern was getting all them cables into that plug in order.... I didn't see the pack...
Monoprice has good cat6 cable, tho it's a pita. The key is cutting that separator low and then using that wire guide, cutting the wire at 45 degrees angle to side in... Then crimp away...
do you mix the areas and cams? for example, the front and back of the house do you have a mixture of dahua and lorex cams or all one brand? I was going to have both starlights at the front of the house, as thats where most of my traffic is and leave the lorex for sides and back...
If anyone has purchased cat cables and planned on terminating themselves, especially with cat6 solid strand, check out these vids below. I couldn't figure out until this guy explained the wire guide correctly;
Also got that Costco kit... Wondering if to try starlight 5321r and lnb8005 or both starlight.... Gonna do test mount first so I can swap out if needed.
