    HikVision HikConnect on iVMS 4200

Sorry for the newbie question, but what is the relationship of Xiongmai to Hikvision? I scanned the sec-consult.com article above and it was not clear. Also does "XMEye P2P Cloud” equate to Hik-Connect?

    New Hikvision iVMS4200 Lite 1.0.0.4

Perhaps, although placing this in the "Modify Network Parameter" screen is bit counter-intuitive. Given this Network Parameter screen is device specific, I guess it allows you to specify a different Admin password for each device.

    New Hikvision iVMS4200 Lite 1.0.0.4

I installed the iVMS-4200 Lite on a Windows 10 PC. A couple of observations: I used the "Online Device" method to add devices (i.e., NVR and cameras) to the client. The installation did not seem to like me specifying an account with Operator user level has permission (specifically the NVR...

iVMS-4200: Setup Help for a Newbie

I have two IP cameras and the DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. I have not found any basic instructions on setting up the iVMS-4200 client to live view content as well as playback recorded content. Any pointers would be appreciated. --Rob

Help with Hikvision NVR-based Motion Recording

I do not think it does (looks disabled), as perhaps it is a function of the camera's capability. I will, however, double check and report back.

Help with Hikvision NVR-based Motion Recording

So the NVR configured Continuous recording for the daytime hours and then Motion recording in the overnight hours seems to work fine. Also the NVR allows the detection motion events within the continuous recording window (i.e., outside the arming schedule for motion events). Below is a...

    Cloudy IR Video

Fixed! As suggested by Shockwave199, the cloudy IR footage was caused by an improperly mated mini-dome camera housing (apparently causing internal reflections of the IR)

    Cloudy IR Video

Thanks, I'll check that the dome cover is fully seated and if that is not it try catching less of the side wall.

Help with Hikvision NVR-based Motion Recording

So the NVR record schedule was set to Motion (all day), yet the Event arming schedule still seems to control when the NVR records motion events (as Paul indicated above). I guess what confused me is the camera behavior appears different. What I mean is my cameras have internal micro-SD storage...

Hikvision NVR - HDD Behavior on Full

Thanks. I confirmed the Overwrite option seems to be the default with my NVR (and also on the camera for the microSD card installed in it) Here is the NVR screenshot.

    Cloudy IR Video

Hello, One of my mini-dome cameras has a cloudy looking video when in night-mode. (see below). The camera is mounted to a drop ceiling tile. Is this being caused by reflections back into the camera (perhaps from the side wall or glass door). If yes can I adjust a sensitivity setting in the...

Hikvision NVR - HDD Behavior on Full

Hi, Another newbie question. I have not be able to get a clear understanding of the Hikvision NVR behavior when the HDD(s) become full? Is there an option to allow overwriting of the oldest recordings? I have been searching the DS-7600NI series user manual without any luck. Thanks! --Rob

Help with Hikvision NVR-based Motion Recording

Paul, Perhaps I interpreted the arming incorrectly then. I assumed this was an Alarm (e.g., a motion event that occurs when one is not expect, like when a business is closed) and that Motion recording in the NVR could be triggered independently of that. If that is not the case (as you seem to...
