I'm tempted to get one of these to mount in between my two 5442 varifocals. I have the varifocals criss crossing the driveway and wonder if putting this in between both to get a shot in between the vehicles would work. I'd keep the LEDs on all night which will further help the two other 5442s.
I picked up a used Deskpro for a song. It has an i5-4570 that I'll use to get my feet wet with BI and my first few cams. It's the first Intel based system I have owned in over a decade. I'll continue to use it as long as it serves my needs and when it no longer does I'll ditch it for another...
For those of you in Canada, I'm in Alberta and had Andy ship one direct to me. I just emailed him and he sent me an invoice then shipped the camera to me. It took a few days to arrive.
That's the plan tomorrow night and over the weekend. I literally just got it installed last night then set up BI. I'm new to all of this so I have a bunch of reading and tweaking to do.

How much smaller is the fixed lense version compared to this? I just received my camera today but I don't have a fixed version to compare to. Is the footprint of the fixed smaller?
The clarity at full zoom is pretty impressive. I know these cost more than their fixed lense sisters but I'd still consider using all varifocal for my install just for the flexibility.
I'm expecting mine to show up mid week next week but by then I'm sure we will have a few comprehensive reviews.....full of settings I can use to get mine dialed in lol
