The interesting part is that nothing is on DHCP and ONLY when I plug the NVR in does everything cease to work effectively...I never record on continuous mode, so appears that something else may be happening here.

great thread.... i managed to connect via serial console to the camera... a presumably bricked DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS that won't show up in SADP and won't hit the hikvision TFTP even when direct connected... PuTTY only shows me this gibberish... did I miswire the serial ? I followed all serial cable...
