Connecting A Joystick Keyboard To The NVR

If you select "network control" does it give any further options such as choosing a manufacture brand, or ONVIF profile ? Now the question is could an RS485 keyboard be used to network control the cameras...that is to say RS485 is being sent to the NVR, and the NVR is in turn controlling the...

Connecting A Joystick Keyboard To The NVR

Yes indeed RS485 is oldschool technologies. What I do not understand however is what protocol is being used to send control signal over the network. Otherwise it would have to be brand specific/compatible or ONVIF compliant.

Connecting A Joystick Keyboard To The NVR

The good news is I have a bunch of KBD300A keyboards from my cctv system. I did indeed end up buying a Hikvision DS-7732NI-I4/24P and have been experimenting and learning how to use it. I have yet to key my hands on an IP-PTZ camera so that will be a whole other adventure. Is PTZ control data...

Connecting A Joystick Keyboard To The NVR

I am looking at purchasing a standalone Hikvision NVR(Hikvision DS-7732NI-I4/24P) and want to know how to go about connecting a joystick keyboard to it for PTZ control. I know the back of these units have RS485 terminals, so is it possible to use something like the world famous Pelco KBD300A in...

NVR Recommendations to replace a large scale Unifi-Video deployment (Ubiquiti)

To my knowledge Ubiquiti cameras can only be used on their NVR/Unifi-Video. They are not ONVIF compliant.

    Question regarding Hikvision NVR's - The DS-77 vs DS76 w/ Analitics

I 100% Agree. I only purchased 2x 4K 8mp cameras which will be used to give a full view of the back of my yard. The other cameras will cover the specific scenes (ex. entry way, driveway, front door, street corner etc..) Personally I am not sold on the color night vision. The problem is the...

    Question regarding Hikvision NVR's - The DS-77 vs DS76 w/ Analitics

Which Dhaua NVR are you using now? Any problems so far when live viewing/playback ? Also when they say "supports Up to 8 or 12 MP Resolution" What does that mean exactly? Does it mean each camera you use cant be over 8/12 mp, or the total ammount of cameras cannot exceed 8/12mp ?

    Question regarding Hikvision NVR's - The DS-77 vs DS76 w/ Analitics

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply. Where did you buy it from? An authorized hik dealer or "gray market"? How many cams did you have hooked up to it, and did you ever have any issues with lag, dropped frames etc.. during live view and recording? My main concern is being able to display all...

    Question regarding Hikvision NVR's - The DS-77 vs DS76 w/ Analitics

I am strongly put off by the complexities and intricacies involved in building a Blue Iris NVR. I realize this is the favored path for most given the amount of customization that can be achieved, however I have decided that the best fit for me would be a stand alone NVR. All of my cameras are...

    Pelco Cameras

It was a company like no other. A lot more info on IPVM about the history and some cool stories. Some of the long time employees from back in the day actually have a facebook group in which they keep in tough "Old School Pelco"

New Here and looking or ways to setup home surveillance.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Interesting setup. So if I am understanding this correctly you are using your BI + Office PC's on 2 different networks essentially. When you want to get out to the internet the network card port on the 192.168.1 is what you are going through. To access BI, and in...

New Here and looking or ways to setup home surveillance.

How do you have it set up? What are you using to access your system from outside the network ? From what I have been gathering on there the most secure way is separate router and access via openvpn. I have personally just been using teamviewer to get in to a pc running the vms, however it is a...
