I had similar woes then learned the URL was pointing to wrong IP address. I checked the variables and found the BlueIrisURL was for my NIC that was only inside camera subnet. In BlueIris, Settings > Web Server, internal, I changed the IP to NIC that was visible to AiTools and that got the alerts...

I am viewing Dahua 5231R cameras perfectly in Chrome. Goto bottom of this page and install the "ie-tab" plugin. It simulates a tab in Chrome to act like ie v9 so ActiveX is tricked ??? Who cares how, it works !

I am a fan of Zyxel switches. The 10 port models support vlans and POE and have SFP ports for uplink via fiber. I have POE cameras plugged into each port and they all work just fine. I like that I can manage them via web portal.

Thanks for sub stream idea. I could not find that in BI, only in the camera portal. I removed the sub and the picture quality did increase. I was not aware of the need for settings in the portal vs BI. Ex: why do you send all the video to BI and filter it (motion mask areas etc.) there; why not...

Thru IE, I zoom to max and can clearly see leaves, rocks etc. In BI (latest version) I still see the rocks but not as clearly. What settings to adjust, where to start ? BI server is dedicated to BI, CPU is around 60% and 1gig of RAM (out of 16).
