The camera I ordered from Andy should be here very soon
Well I finally got the camera.....the courier didn't arrive until about 7:30pm so I didn't get to install it last night. It's all setup and running in my office for now.

Got a party and other stuff on today so I'll probably have to install tonight - plus the temperature is going to be 42 here today (107F).....a bit warm to be getting up on the roof and in the roof cavity.

The sun set on the Huisun this evening and it was replaced by the Dahua SD49225T-HN......no surprise that is shits all over the Huisun. Still need to do lots of fine tuning, but I'm thinking I'll leave it in day mode given how well it performs with the existing street lighting. Just need to get the presets working in Blue Iris - I'm pretty sure I saw something on here about someone else having a similar problem, so I'll have to hunt around for the fix.

Here's a small video of me testing it out tonight at 9:30pm. The sun set at 7:20pm -
Don't forget to change the quality to 1080p. The car in the video is 132m away.

Here's a video of the Huisun pointing the same way at it's maximum zoom -

Loving this camera even more now. Just figured out I had to log into the camera via my web browser to set the 'presets'. I didn't have to do that with the Huisun as these could be set in BlueIris.

Here's another quick video showing how quickly it spins almost 180 degrees from one end of the street to the other. It also focuses very quickly considering the lack of light left and the fact all my other cameras have switched to night mode - although you can't tell that by looking at the footage from the Dahua

I don't have one of those exact PTZs but you can definitely set and save presets for some PTZs from within BI. Move the camera to where you want the preset to be and then click and hold the preset button you want it to be. Voila! Move the camera away, click the button, and it'll move back.

I do not have a PTZ yet either...but wondering If you set up something like line cross detection in a couple of different locations, can you associate the line cross triggers with different presets so it would go from say wide angle view to zoom in on whichever line was crossed? (within the camera and \ or with BI)?

That would be cool...So I could have a default overview of the yard but zoom to the front door or side of the house if someone\something passes there for a much closer look.

My only ptz is a Huisun and I don't use line crossing with BI so I'll sit this one out.

Has anyone check the actual wattage draw? The spec states 13 W with IR off. I expect it to draw a bit less as the specs seem to be to the high side when I test other cameras I have in place.

Thanks...

Typically its less than 13W with IR off, at idle they wont take much power but when all the motors fire up at the same time it can potentially reach 13W..

my midspan only polls power use once every other second, its unlikely to even register most motions of a PTZ.. the specs for your other cameras seems like its on the high side because your not observing it under full power conditions, such as bootup with IR on and the IR cut filter activating all at the same time.. the specs list maximum power usage, not the idle power usage.

various configuration options can also impact the power usage, if your not using some features then you might not see the loads its capable of.

you should capable meeting these power requirements at any point in time; even if its never used.. otherwise your setting your self for a potential overload of your power supply and that will result in instability at best.

When sitting in one position mine draws around 12 to 13 watts. If you turn the IR "far" to 100% it pushes it to 14.4 . During restarts and when running a simple L/R repeat scan it jumps up to 18.9 watts so
I would think that at full IR, all motors moving, and zooming in/out could push it to + 23 . Audio would also push it even higher.
