Long CAT 6 wire runs - repeater or router needed?

Is this one option to get power and communicate with the router? Unfortunately, I do have trees on site.

1. Plug one end of your 300' & 500' cable into your router.

2. Plug the other end of the 300' cable into one of the camers.

3. Plug the other end of your 500' cable into a small unmanaged $10 switch. Run a cable from the switch into the camera.

4. Plug both cameras and the switch into AC and you are done except for setting up the cameras.

You can't have any one Ethernet cable over 300' (328' as posted earlier in this thread) unless it's fiber optic. It's that simple.

You can...the spec is 328 however many have had success running much longer than that...key is really good solid cat 6..
So I've now installed several 500 foot CAT5 POE connected Hiks....
ipvm did a test on longer runs as well...you will need a membership to read.

This sounds right... Except they you'll need the switch in the middle of the 500ft run, so you have two 250ft runs.

Just curious. Are you sizing the 120Vac cable gauge to handle the lenght and amperage (20A) within the code 2% drop maximum?
