License plate capture on private driveway

My Loryta IPC-B54IR-Z4E S3 (AndyCam) is my best LP camera. It should work great at 30-40 feet from the driveway. It has been reliable as a rock. It’s mounted on a short 4x4 post next to a tree. I painted it with two colors of Rustoleum camo paint so it kinda blends in.

I also use a 2MP z12 for LP duty. It’s solid in the daytime, but at night has a narrow range of good focus, and struggles with some rear plates due to the uneven lighting. It does well at night with most reflective front plates. But it is capturing plates at probably 80+ feet.

Have 2 review here, they are both the best cameras we are selling for cost saving LPR.
Z12E Best for 80-120ft
Z4E best for 30-80ft

We also add a good dual junction box for this bullet, work great for some project users.

Dusk has some weakness, mighta had enough light to get it with no IR, but It's doing so well on an auto day night setting otherwise, Why fuck with it. It's not Houston over here (yet).( Comprende Amigo?)
if you couple that with a Z12E on the same point you could tune it the plates the Z4 struggles with. "Cameras multiply like rabbits" as a former member used to say. He's up in the Big Camera in the Sky trying to get plates :)

I WANT mine to be seen generally. Those and the gun turrets.
My neighbor said " paranoid much".
Mission accomplished :)
They are being passive deterrents. My bullet 5442's, and my LED Color4k t180 are definitely seen, and the LED's seem to create act like a car repellant to Apt dwellers parking there. Mostly the one who use their cars to consume drugs away from the kids/wife whatever.

There aew cheap solutions which make it clear that it is a private driveway such as barrier gates or hydraulic bollards. He could use either solar power or use a car battery to power it, which will last for weeks.

Whatever you do, just have a realistic set of expectations. The only way to stop unwanted access on this road is going to be by installing gates. All other solutions like cameras, signs, etc are all "passive" deterrents that won't actually stop anyone from entering the property.

Also, the police are going to do ZERO about any of this, even if provided with clear identifiable footage of vehicles and occupants. The don't have enough manpower to handle violent crimes, let alone a trespass situation after the fact. In fact, they will likely become irritated at the owner if they keep hassling the police about these incidents. I would also recommend AGAINST the owner trying to track down the offenders. There is nothing good that is going to be accomplished by it (you will not stop someone by confronting and accusing them of a petty crime) and they are putting themselves in greater harm than they might realize. There are a high number of mentally unstable people in society today and you never know who is going to act violently for no reason.

Again, I'm not advocating for one solution over another. Just understand that installing a bunch of cameras isn't going to deter people's actions and the police aren't going to do anything about it either.

Getting law enforcement involved doesn't mean they will actually come out/after reported persons. Rather, it means opening up a means of reports that can be used in a legal matter down the road. Happens everyday... without documentation you're not going to be able to do anything legally down the road, if one chooses to go that route.

Me? I'd put the gates, file the complaints with law enforcement for documentation, and then be done with it.

When I mean law enforcement, in this case I would most likely go with the Sheriff office.
