I was looking for a bullet camera for the front door with AI that lights up LED's on being triggered. And a dual camera (Reolink Duo3 type) floodlight style camera. That work with 2 way talk on BI. I'm a simple guy with simple needs. :0)

Audio doesn't follow a ONVIF standard and two way talk with cameras is mostly like walkie talkie. Best to go with a doorbell camera designed for two-way. A favorite here is the Reolink doorbell thst works with BI, but that is the only device recommended by reolink.

He mentions the camera is a reolink and they are notorious for making the iframe whatever they want. We have seen people post their BI camera status page where the KEY is 0.10 which means if an object is in and out of the field of view in under 10 seconds, it could be missed.

Note as you have synology Nas.. remember they charge per camera after 2 iirc .. so for most of us other options become more cost effective once you consider the capabilities vs price

BI may someday, if the developer gets enough requests. I encourage you to email their support and ask for it as I and others have asking that BI support 2-way audio with the Reolink Doorbell.

Yep, just learned about that from another thread. Still wondering why Toons and others are livid about the brand, not just the cameras. Back to the switches...these Reolink switches are not proprietary, are they? They will work with other camera brands, right?

I think it's mainly the cameras and probably the nvrs too. Having said that, they have a doorbell camera that is quite popular on these forums. I use one of the poe sensor lights. No camera, just a sensor light that is poe. That works perfectly fine.

Ok now I get the picture why to stay away from Reolink cameras. :) But that does not explain why to avoid the brand altogether. Their RLA-PS1 POE switches got good reviews on Amazon. Is there a reason to avoid them too? Or, is it just the cameras?

I have a few other old reolinks, not defending those, moved away a long time ago. Nor the early doorbell firmware. But as I said, the doorbell is solid now on the latest firmware.

We have numerous documentation on issues with Reolink cameras, firmware, as well as the company .. do see the various threads on Reolink where it is shown and documented ..
