    BI Choppy issues.

So a couple of issues. It appears that is a 3rd gen CPU, which if using the substreams should be capable, but maybe the CPU inside is designed to favor less power over performance, which is common in the tiny tower category. Cameras will generally perform better within the NVR (provided they...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

@jsdoc - no we are on the same page regarding " the original poster's particular (config) problem for this particular firmware release vs. the deeper dive in to BI vs Reolink tech talk, to the extent that (bonehead default of OVMIF toggled off aside) they seem to be making an effort to be more...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

Sorry, we're perhaps on different convos - I was replying to the original poster's particular (config) problem for this particular firmware release vs. the deeper dive in to BI vs Reolink tech talk, to the extent that (bonehead default of OVMIF toggled off aside) they seem to be making an effort...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

Can you please post some night time video with motion (car passing by or a person walking by) demonstrating that this new firmware fixes the problems with the cam? Can you also post a screenshot from the BI Camera Status page at night that shows that? I am looking for the screenshot that looks...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

Think I can help: Just had same issue with this firmware update - for me couldn't get any connection / stream in BI after the firmware update which of course was very odd since it configured quite nicely with BI with default firmware. HOWEVER, the firmware update is significant both with...

Wanted to add to our master Reolink thread created due to a video by the Hookup now has an updated video that further shows the problems with Reolinks at night and his testing shows that the @EMPIRETECANDY camera performs better at night...

    Reolink Lumus & Blue Iris

Those cameras are your problem. Return them if you can. Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack if you ever decide to go that route. There are some goofy work-arounds to kinda get them to work in BI, but it doesn't fix the inherent flaws in the camera during...

    Alternatives to Reolink?

Enjoy the Reolinks. If they meet your use case, then fine. After you get them, please post video examples with motion both day and night on how great they work in the thread linked above - we are still waiting for someone to demonstrate that, so maybe you will be the first! People are cheap...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

+1 what @sebastiantombs said AND Reolink cameras have problems with iframe intervall, so the motion detection with blueiris/synology/... is a pain in the ass ! also the 8-12MP models have h265 ONLY on mainstream, which is also problematic ... Some models uses VBR by default, which can also be...

    Alternatives to Reolink?

The reolink hate is strong I see. To be clear, yes, I have read about Reolink problems and after that I'm not planning on buying anything reolink, I'm saying the quality of the 822A video to me looks right around what I want for the price, so looking for recommendations for other brand cameras...

    Alternatives to Reolink?

It's not just that Reolink doesn't work well with Blue Iris. They don't work well with Blue Iris or at night for the same reasons. Reolink plays games with their firmware to make a static, still, picture look really good. To do that they lower the shutter speed, exposure, making it very long...

Deepstack not detecting anything, how to debug?

I am curious to learn more about this as I have been having issues with sms alerts not going through and find that it may be related to poor detection and now your feedback on frames and keys is an area to look into based on your description of the possible effects. I am running amcrest and...

Basic Questions in relation to a few common models and recommendations

Wow - If I had to guess the person would be right behind the closest pillar and that's why there's the weird blur and small artifacting near the flower bed, but I didn't search the background too hard. None of my cameras have ever had any issues even resembling these problems. I wasn't aware...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

Those cameras are your problem. Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack if you ever decide to go that route. Blue Iris is great and works with probably more camera brands than most VMS programs, but there are brands that don't work well or not at all - Rings...

Problems configuring Reolink 823-A with BI5

Having a lot of problems here configuring the 823-A with BI5. Purchased a RLC 823-A last week. Updated the firmware today and now its not interfacing with Blue Iris properly. Using the Reolink App and Reolink desktop, everything seems ok running at CLEAR (3840x2160 25 fps). But trying to...

Events in alert images are not seen in video clip

The camera is your problem. Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack if you ever decide to go that route. You might be able to get the "event" if you make the pretrigger like 15 seconds, but 2 seconds is not enough for those cams...But even if you catch it, it...

    Hardware recommendations - VM/Bare Metal for BI+Deepstack - CPU/GPU upgrade needed?

WOW! Thanks for your fast and super-comprehensive answer! Sadly i can not return the cameras, but i can sell them at a small loss on Ebay and move on. What would be a good alternative? I just need an indoor camera with a pretty wide angle lens to monitor the entry door in corridor of my flat...

    Hardware recommendations - VM/Bare Metal for BI+Deepstack - CPU/GPU upgrade needed?

For two cameras, a 4th generation is fine. A member here is running 50 cameras on a 4th gen at 30% CPU and another member is running 18 cameras with Deepstack on a 3rd generation at 15%CPU... You will soon realize that Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack...

    Crashing every time I load

Need help with reolink RLC-410,520 and BI

You will soon realize that Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack. There is some beta software Reolink put out (you can search the forum for a link), that is supposed to help, but nobody has come back to the forum to mention if it actually fixes the issue...

Cant get Deepstacks to recognize anything

Yeah, Hardware acceleration has been causing problems since DeepStack has been introduced. Plus, with the addition of the substreams to BI, hardware acceleration isn't really needed anymore. Yeah, folks here have been down that reolink update as well....let's see what happens when it gets...

Cant get Deepstacks to recognize anything

Yeah, this. I don't use any hardware acceleration, and have no issues.
  27. sebastiantombs

Cant get Deepstacks to recognize anything

I'd shut off hardware acceleration. It can be problematic with Reolink and the reduction in CPU utilization is minimal when using sub streams. One less thing to cause problems that way.

That is your problem. Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack. Was the YT you watched the hookup by any chance... Blue Iris is great and works with probably more camera brands than most VMS programs, but there are brands that don't work well or not at all -...

    Person/Car Detection

Glad to hear Milestone is working for you, but I assure you that the issue you were having with BI was more related to the cameras than BI itself... Blue Iris is great and works with probably more camera brands than most VMS programs, but there are brands that don't work well or not at all -...
