Dahua NVR will not accept Hikvision cameras password?

My Lorex NVR does the same to GW Camera. It prompts for camera password. I put it in, it works.

    NVR/PC repair

Hi all. My Lorex NVR and a desktop computer were connected to a DSL line. After a rain storm, the NVR, the tower, and modem got fried, and some cameras went down too. We did not smell anything though. I heard from the telephone company tech that my neighbors had the same problem (with Modems)...

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

Those are all the firmware sources that I've found for Lorex. Too bad none of them are IPC's update lists. The only reference I've seen on the Lorex site related to firmware is for DVR/NVR's, with a note to call them if you need a copy of firmware.

Nice info! Before I update my Lorex W452AS with the Dahua IPC-WL46AP / IPC-WL46 also noted as IPC-L46N I wanted to download the Lorex firmware but I don't know where it is. I have both my W452AS cams bugging me to download the new firmware but I have no way to know where it's coming from! I...

    Hello from Houston

In most instances, you want to get a camera that will perform at your location for the worse situation, which for most of us is at night when it is dark and there is little to no light. If a camera performs at night, it is easier to tweak settings to make it work during the day than it is the...

    Hello from Houston

Holy cow!!!! I thought at first all of my ads came back after coughing up my $5.00. :) This looks great. I was originally looking at an (8) Cam Lorex bundle from COSTCO for $1200.00. Going this route though, it looks like it makes my recording options for camera's expand significantly. The...

    Which camera

Many here will say that the 5442 / 54IR is the best bang for the buck and I would need to agree with them. I started with Lorex (they use Dahua cameras). I bought and installed a Lorex analog MPX system. They were 2MP cameras in 2.8mm focal lengths. I then won a Lorex giveaway and was sent a 2K...

Anybody familiar with GW Security systems?

Why are you tired of Lorex ? What makes you think GW will be better ? 10% discount .. wait for Black Friday time period if you are needing a discount. Remember to also check the sensor size .. IP67 is nice, should be able to find Dahua OEM or Hikvision OEM cameras that meet that spec if you...

Anybody familiar with GW Security systems?

These will be worse than Lorex. Most of their models have the ring of IR that is very dated technology and just about everything they offer is on the 1/2.8" sensor. What is your goal of the system - general look around or identify capabilities?

Anybody familiar with GW Security systems?

First, no sales tax and they give a 10% discount. second, some of their bullets cameras are IP67 rated and do have built in mic. third, i am getting tired of Lorex.

    Dahua NVR + Home assistant.

You may want to reconsider hiring a security expert... There is certainly a market for companies like that, but in mine and many people here experiences, these "experts" push overpriced 2.8 and 3.6mm cameras on less than ideal MP/sensor and leaving cameras on default/auto settings to IDENTIFY...

    Lorex

I use Blue Iris to get my camera feeds from my NVR - a cheap Uniview knock off, i think. But after repairing a broken PTZ ( PDN49I425H-XR) that we replaced I didnt want it to connect to my cheap nvr.....wanted to try and make the Lorex into a Dahua. It's too rainy to cut my grass.

    Lorex security system questions

usually, ( with Dahua and Amcrest NVR's ) and hopefully Lorex, the User/Password for the NVR is applied to the New cameras when you setup the whole works. So keep that somewhere to access the Lorex Cams in the new system ( maybe)(hopefully) There is a menu in the NVR's to let it search for...

What is a poe port? What is a iirc? And, I'm so sorry, who is Andy?, And what Im understanding is, these Dahua components, would be better price wise, than the Lorex name? I hate being lame on a particular subject.

    Lorex security system questions

Yes those are dahua oem cameras .. Andy sold versions of those iirc Andy should have a decent Dahua 5xxx series nvr which should work. Remember some nvrs do not have poe ports, so if you need poe ports double check that you are getting a nvr model with them. Lorex unfortunately charges too...

    Lorex security system questions

Dahua is a camera manufacturer that makes cameras and NVRs for lots of brands like Lorex and Amcrest. Unless yours is one of the proprietary units, darn near anything made by Dahua would work with your Lorex system.
