    BI, VPN and Unifi USG

...up, nearly a year later . . . I was never able to get anywhere with the Unifi and Android disagreement over VPN's. I ended up going the Tailscale route, by following this video I am having to use the Blueiris app, and I can't do anything else VPN-wise on my network. But I am able to...

Access UI3 or BI App externally?

setup zero tier or tailscale, he just needs to leave it on... as noted pushover works great for alerts. Also note push alerts via the app work without vpn, its only the photos that need a connection back to the server.

    Help setting up VLAN network

Excellent point. Ok, my other option for NVR access is to set up a router with a 4G SIM for direct access to the NVR with the VPN. I think I'll go that route then. It will mean having two physically separate networks but it's probably safer that way. Thank you

    Help setting up VLAN network

The problem with that is how will you use openvpn without a public ip? You can use something like tailscale or zeroteir The bigger issue that the private internet provider has access to your network and unencrypted date flowing in/out

Wiregaurd to remotely Access BlueIris on PC?

...to change things to be able to get there. OpenVPN on the Asus also is relatively easy to setup and use too. Generally no need to use Tailscale/Zerotier in the case that you have direct VPNs available. You could use all 3 or 4 if you wanted but typically no need for that. I have...

Wiregaurd to remotely Access BlueIris on PC?

If you set up a VPN service on your local network (can be on your router/firewall or another computer on the network), then when you connect to the local network through the VPN it is as if your device is on the local network. So anything you can do with that device on your local network, you...

Wiregaurd to remotely Access BlueIris on PC?

...Thinking about it, to access my cameras I use a RPI with Wire gaurd loaded to it. Would I be able to access a PC on my network using Microsoft Remote desktop or whatever that functionality is? Would you still suggest Tailscale or Zerotier? Looking for whatever is most secure, then fastest.

Wiregaurd to remotely Access BlueIris on PC?

...like just opening a port to a cam. What router do you have? Maybe it supports OpenVPN which you could just turn on which might be faster/easier. Might also look at Tailscale and zerotier. They don't require opening a port and probably a little easier than setting up a WireGuard server inside.

cyberghost is not making you more secure its just taking your money.... You want to setup a VPN into your network. Lots of threads about it. Another easier and secure option is using zero-tier or tailscale. There are threads on both of these as well.

    A few Blue Iris questions

    1) yes its per pc. You can purchase a second license at a discount and install on your laptop. There is a specific remote function that will connect to your server and allow you to essentially duplicate the BI server interface. However, you can do this with windows remote desktop already (make...
